1. interesting points here, empress and the cali are too expensive really. although i like the features on them anyone used the pigtronix bass compressor? can dial in clean uncompressed tone which is cool. id prefer the 3 dials i think don't want to overcomplicate really.
2. Hi guys, im in the market for buying a new compressor pedal for my board. primarily i want it for super compressed sounds to use with a distortion and octave for synth style playing bit I would ideally like one that could be pulled back and used as a nice compressor for slap stuff in other projects. any suggestions? was thinking maybe the MXR bass compressor looked quite good but can only find people using it for slap stuff. any input would be appreciated. im not near any stores which stock any range of bass gear unfortunately.
3. wicked thanks so much! ill be fine fitting it cheeeeers
4. hey yeah alpha is the brand it is about 4.5cm long but i can't see a K on the slider it self, but the board has 100kb printed about it do you think it is 100k then?
5. hi guys, unfortunately the other day at band practise my drummers cymbal fell on my pedal board and has seemed to break the resonance slider on my Electro Harmonix XO Micro Synth. looking inside the sliders say 'alpha' and I've looked and they are a company but i can't see which one on the site is for this pedal. I've tried contacting them but there has been no response... can anyone help?
6. Hi Guys, ive had a listen to some Chi sonic pickups, they sound amazing! but i was thinking of adding one to my jaguar ( jazz bass pickups already installed) i was wondering could i rout a new hole right at the neck end to drop a chi sonic in and have a 3 pickup bass? i could change the switches at the bottom to turn each of the pickups on and have a master volume and tone can anyone thing of any immediate problems with this? or would taking the neck jazz pickup out and sticking a chi sonic in its place be the best option? ( some routing will be required obviously) i recon a chisonic at the very neck end will give it a lovely thumpy vintage tone. Cheers in advance!
7.
If it`s the active model, the Fender service diagram (link below) shows a 250 on volume, and a 500 on the bass/treble control. http://support.fende...-9505B_SISD.pdf
its passive with an active eq that can be activated... but i hardly use it. the active section is just a bass and treble boot on its own so could i just get away with a 250 pot for tone?
8. first of all, sorry if i have posted this in the wrong category! I'm looking to upgrade the pots in my jap Fender Jaguar Deluxe. the pots in there are awful. i don't know how i have put up with them this far. the volume in particular is bad. it is quite up until about 7 then there is a massive jump in volume until full . what pots would you recommend for me? i have heard good things about CTS but I'm more confused by the 250K / 500 K argument. any help would be appreciated!
9.
Sorry, I never got a chance. I'll have a look tomorrow if I can.
thanks! really appreciate it.
10.
It does seem odd that you need to have the drive up that high. I can't recall if there's a trim pot in it for the input. I'll have a look on Tuesday & let you know.
did you manage to check the moog mate?
11. ive discovered a company called Iron Ether, they do pretty much a clone of what i need but are completely sold out!! damn! is there no other low pass filters out there?
12. the EQ pedals don't really have the same smooth sound as the Moog. i know what I'm basically doing is the same thing with the moog but it just doesn't sound the same i think the answer must lye in a Static filter somewhere...
13. oh brilliant thanks yeah my bass doesn't have a weak signal or anything because i don't have problems with other pedals or needing my amp volume too high, its just this one pedal that is a problem for me :/ cheers for the help!
14. im also not really after the flexibility side of things. if I'm honest i don't want the envelope at all just that subby dub sound from filtering.
15. i have my cut off at just below 250 and with anything less that 2 o'clock on the drive its too quiet when the pedal is engaged. the problem is i don't want to be stomping on another pedal to boost the signal before the moog, because its still taking up that space on the board =(
16. hey guys, I'm looking to replace my moog Low Pass Filter with a similar pedal. reason for this is i use the moog actually as a really subby sound instead of using the filter. i set the resonance and envelope amount to nothing, mix to 10 and just filter all the high end out which is a great sub by sound. the problem is to get this i have to boost the drive knob a lot and with the pedal the drive is active even when the pedal is off meaning the pedal has to be put through a bypass looper in order for this to work in my setup. i was looking at MXR M82 and was wondering does anyone know if it could get this sound? no audible filter sound just a static dub sound? if anyone has one could they give it a try? if not a possible alternative? not looking for a pedal to do an octave down just what the moog does in a much smaller footprint. Cheers Guys !
17. Awesome that's perfect just bought one second hand for 50 quid
18. they look like what i need. just to check you can set it up for two inputs to 1 out put? do i use the input and the return to the output?
19. Hey guys, i have an electro harmonic switchblade which I'm using to switch between bass and synth into one amp. unfortunately the signals of both are really quiet when i use it. i assume thats because the pedal is passive? would an active A B Y switch like the mooer option solve this? also does anyone know of an a b y that has separate level controls? Thanks in advance.
20. It might be because I'm using a him bucker. The output is really hot. The drive has to be as low as it can other wise the drive goes red and my dry sound is distorted.
21. I could do but I thought it would spun best putting the compressor first in chain and it stop the problem of the drive on the moog being a problem as I have to put the drive up loads to make it load enough but then my dry sound is distorted. I should really get it in a looper in my board
22. Thanks for the help guys, the sound was missing the octave before it. Stuck a oc-2 before the pedal and it sounds huge. Might use my sans amp as a DI to the desk then also back into my effects loop Bass> TC RH450 with compression > effects loop > oc-2 > moog low pass filter > sans amp to desk and back to loop
23. anyone know of a good setting to get that reallllly low bass sound on a moog low pass filter? im trying to get it for some really deep chorus' in my band, and i dont want to fork out forr a DOD..
24. the problem was my practise amp not the pedal. oops cheers for the help guys.
