1.
I wanna try this amp, why very little information in the music media and on the net, nobody seems to be advertising it as 'in sock'. This seems a perfect combo for me but it's as rare as hen's teeth, anybody know why?
As per my previous post, we have the Promethean in stock. It's a fantastic bit of kit and really well-priced too. It's not in every store because there has only been one shipment into the UK so far and we were lucky enough to secure stock from that shipment.

  2. The Zoom B2 is a multi-effects unit. The RC2 is a dedicated looper. They are not at all similar products and neither can do what the other one can. If you're looking at loopers, there aren't too many out there. If you ignore the Zvex Lo-Fi looper which is a bit different, then the Boss is the smallest dedicated looper you'll find. Digitech are launching a similar single stompbox unit but we have no date yet for when it will get to market.

You could also look at delay/loopers, of which the Akai Headrush it one. Although the Headrush is a nice, simple unit, none of the delay/loopers will allow you to store multiple loops like you can with the dedicated loopers and their recording memory will be limited, normally to 30 seconds or less. Other delay/loopers are the Boss DD-7 and DD-20, Hardwire Delay/Looper and the Electro Harmonix Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai.

For dedicated looping also look at the Digitech Jamman and Line 6 JM4. But these are bigger and more expensive units than the RC-2.

If you're close to us (Northwood, North West London) then pop in for a demo.

  3. We don't have any pricing information as of yet on the Phase 45. Yes, it's a limited run as they only have the parts for a certain volume. However, despite that, it should be around for a year at the very least. Unless they've massively misjudged demand!

  4. Most of the options have already been mentioned. In terms of clean boosts, you could consider:

    EHX LPB-1
    Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster
    MXR Micro Amp
    Modtone Clean Boost

Other options that have also been mentioned which would work are:

    EHX Signal Pad
    Boss LS-2

The LS-2 may make the most sense for what you're trying to achieve. Of the clean boosts, the Modtone is probably the least coloured.

  5. Sorry for the late reply. The address given by Hamster is the correct one. Contact details, including our phone number, are on the EffectPowerSupplies.com website here:

The fxpedal.co.uk site will be live in the Spring. For the moment, it is redirecting to EffectPowerSupplies.com.

We look forward to meeting you! :)

  6. The Jamman is still in production. Two new Jamman models have been announced at Namm - a high end stereo looper and a simpler compact model - and both these will run alongside the existing Jamman.

The Line 6 JM4 and the Boss RC20XL also have mic inputs.

  7. The Subdecay Noisebox is definitely one to try out. I'd also suggest looking at ring modulation. Another one that may not be obvious as a noisemaker is the Ibanez Airplane Flanger - you can get police sirens, laser guns and general mayhem out of it as well as more traditional flanging and chorus sounds.

  8.
Has anyone got one of these yet? Anyone used one in anger?
Sean,

We have the full Promethean range in stock and think they're fabulous. If you're local, pop in for a demo.

  9. A big 'hello' to the Basschat community. We look forward to participating in these forums with you and answering questions where we can. We have two bass players on the staff, including myself, the owner. I won't write too much here as I'll leave that for the affiliates forum so please do check there periodically.

    Richard :)
