Looking at a few more (like this one) and the Andy Baxter one it does seem to be a deeper imprint. Making the one on the left look less authentic!

Yeah, that 'L' is a bit strange. Not seen one like that before. Maybe the serial stamper had been down to the pub that afternoon!

I thought the font for the serial looked a bit strange though. Unlike other 64s I've compared.

It's in an auction mate. Currently 1400. Was wondering whether it was worth a punt really. I think some bits really are 64

Hi there. I was wondering about this '64 Jazz Bass. It is for sale and was wondering about authenticity. I know a fair amount about 50's Strats but not 60s Fender basses. However, being a vintage fan I always wanted a 60s JB. It has been refinished but other parts of it don't look right to me (serial no stamp, knobs, pots etc.). I wondered what your thoughts were - if any? Many thanks!
