  1. Just wanted to echo what others have said. Practice is the only way... However, HOW you practice can help a lot. I joined a band where I have to really sing for the first time a year ago and I found that singing my parts while doing other tasks made them a lot more routine. So singing while driving (easy), singing while doing the dishes (medium), singing while running (not as hard as you'd think!) - do something with your hands that's not quite as hard as playing bass while you're learning the vocal parts and you'll be more than halfway there when you strap it on. The other half is knowing the bass parts cold. You don't wanna be thinking about anything but the two tasks at hand so until you're really cooking on stage in this situation, play the lines exactly the same way note for note every single time.
  2. I play all my ridiculously expensive gear on all my gigs. That's most of the fun of having it! Although I do think I look like an asshole showing up with my 535 (and Vigier Excess backup), big ass rig and high end board. But... it makes me happy and I absolutely play better/easier on the gear I use all the time at home... so I'll keep looking like a corksniffing jackass. Also from a guy on the manufacturer side of things - we make em to be played!
  3. Congrats! The AGs are fantastic basses for the dough.
  4. Congrats! Same for me when I got my 535 years ago. Big investment, but completely worth it. I beat the hell out of mine daily!
  5. Hey guys, Been a long time lurker, but was recently hired by MTD, so I figured now is as good a time as any to introduce myself. Prior to my current gig, I was with Vigier on the stateside of things for about 13 years. I don't wanna break any rules, so if you have any questions about products, please feel free to dm me or email [email protected] I'm an actively touring bassist. I play for So Hideous, Lores, Luxury Funeral and used to be in the Number 12 Looks Like You and Sawtooth Grin among many more. As for gear, I play an MTD 535 a G&L L-2500 and a bunch of different Vigiers. My favorite amp is my Verellen Meatsmoke and my favorite cab is my Aguilar GS412, but they can't always make it to every gig so I'm more than happy to bring my Quilter 802. Still looking for my 'forever' compact cab if anyone's got any suggestions. I started building my own pedals like two years ago, just in time to finally start using my HX Stomp live lol... But I'm an absolute gear whore, so I'm sure I'll never stop swapping my stuff!
