Box is a little bashed up but the pedal is in as new condition. Never gigged, just used at home for messing around.

Ok, so it's not going to change your life, but it's a decent little entry level chorus pedal, gotta be worth a punt for £20 posted, or I'll knock a few quid off for local collection from North End in Portsmouth.

  2. My dad got given a Westone Thunder II recently that he's passing on to me. It's not in bad nick and I quite like the look of it in a fugly way. Apart from the usual clean and set up, anyone got any particular suggestions as to what to do with it to improve tone, playability etc.?

I've literally just run my hand up and down the neck and felt the weight of it but even on first inspection it seems like it would be playable with a bit of TLC.

Also thinking new pickups, could splash out since the guitar was free!

  3. I have a 70's Saxon LP copy from the Matsumoku plant. It plays great, looks great, and sounds great (think there's Dimarzios in there) but it certainly does feel a little unstable with that bolt-on neck. Still, I'm glad it's in my collection; something fun to mess around with since I've always been more of a Fender player.

  4. Hola, I'm looking to upgrade some of the hardware on my new(old) strat and was wondering if the saddles that you can buy from Allparts etc. are the same/interchangeable for both trem and hardtail bridges? Just the little saddle parts, not the overall unit.

Afaik I'd need to check the spacing too?

  5. I bought an Orange Rocker 30 combo roughly three years ago, expecting it to be built like a tank. It was second hand but in like new condition, only having been used in the previous owner's house for noodling.

I found external things started breaking down a lot quicker than I was expecting :( I use it fairly regularly for gigs and practises and it's been on one weekend tour - hardly heavy duty use.

Few knobs have gone off the top (need to screw 'em back on), the rubber handle has split on one edge, so that the metal strap underneath is exposed, and at the last gig I played the bloody badge came off the front!

Of course they're all things that can be easily repaired or replaced but it's really annoying and disappointing. You have to expect a bit of wear and tear but it just seems ridiculous to me that an internationally renowned amp company can't make their rubber handle straps last. You should at least be able to lift the thing up and down without the strap tearing! Or screw their knobs on properly...

Anyone else found this / wanna have a moan?

  6. Thanks for all the replies - tbh I'm not going to get involved with taking it apart and trying to fix it as I can pretty much guarantee I won't be able to. For the amount that I play bass at the moment, and the fact that I have bought another (budget) driver, I don't think it's worth the effort for my personal purposes.

But from the replies it seems like it might be worth a go of selling it.

I just wanted to know whether it was a 'lost cause' or not.

  7. I have a Sansamp DI Bass Driver pedal that doesn't seem to work any more. It doesn't 'click on'. Is it worth selling for spares/repairs/parts? It's an expensive and popular bit of kit so I don't want just chuck it out if all it needs is for someone with the know-how to fix it.

Oh, and it's not the battery!

  8. So, I recently had my guitar nicked (a Mexican '72 reissue Fender Tele) and have just picked up a second-hand Mex Strat for a decent price so I'll have something to practise and gig with next week.

I had modded my Tele with a Little 59 in the bridge, and am probably going to want to upgrade the Strat too. I've had a look at Bare Knuckles (quite pricey mind) and other boutique brands (the Creamery etc.) but am probably going to go with SD again unless anybody has any other ideas?

The style I played is fuzzy, 90s style guitar power pop, we get compared to people like Superchunk, Best Coast, etc. so am looking to basically get back a similar sound to what I had before. Here's my bandcamp for reference. 'Conkers' is probably the best example of the sonic range that I like.

I play through an Orange Rocker 30 combo, and use a MXR 78 badass for lead boosts, and have just picked up a Little Big Muff and a Biyang OD-10 (budget Tubescreamer copy). So I think I've got the fuzzy aspect sorted - shall I stick with the Little 59 or is there anything else I should be looking at?

  9. This isn't the exact one, but it basically looks like this - fairly rugged but usable exterior condition.

I have no idea what's wrong with it, just stopped working in practise one day. It was dodgy for a while then just cut out. Sorry I can't give much more information than that. I know it's not worth much but it was a decent enough head when it was going so thought someone might want to give it a tinker if that's your bag.

I don't know enough about heads to do anything with it, so please come and take it off my hands.

I live in Bristol but have fairly regular band practise in Cardiff, and I visit my partner in Portsmouth a few times a week, so can bring it along to any of those places if you want to come and pick it up from my house/practise room/other house.
