Everything is crazy expensive in the U.S. But There's a lot of really good basses being made for what some Bass players refer to as cheap pieces of s**t .2 of my basses A 1996 PEAVEY FOUNDATION 5 is one monster BASS I paid $150.00 for it , of course it was used but in great condition. My Brice FREAKOUT 5 str was 399.00 new in 2018 . It's one of the best basses I've ever had and I've had quite a few over the years. I think it's not the BASS that makes a good player It's the player that makes a bass GOOD. I have a boss me - 50B multi effect and a DARKGLASS B7k V2 analog Preamp , It's a badass I didn't use any bass effects until 2020 I started playing bass in 1976 . Effects don't make me a better bass player But I can make the effect better., I mean sound better. Anyway I agree with what you said 100%

I'm not a fan of social media , I did join talkbass , I liked it at first , I've been playing Bass since I was 15 yrs. old , I'm 62 now , I've seen alot , done alot , been alot of places , had alot done to me , good and bad , played 1000s of shows with different bands , and like to share the good , the bad , the ugly . and the funny every word of every story I post is truth and that is the truth. Soon after I joined TALKBASS moderators started censoring some of my posts , I the first post of mine TALKBASS censored was.2 paragraphs I made up in like 15 minutes off the top of my head about an evil ( New world order) banning music, all musical instruments will be confiscated , which one of your BASSES would you try to hide and keep. a TALK B ASS moderator took the post down , censored a FICTIONAL story. REALLY ? I mean reeallllyyy. why ? I mentioned NEW WORLD ORDER, and that could cause other bass players on TALK B ASS undue stress . LOL 1 comment I posted to someones post Judging Angus Young of ( AC/DC ) having horrible teeth when he was young I commented exactly what I thought. I quote " This is a site mainly FOR BASS PLAYERS and All things BASS, NOT for making your idiotic and disrespectful comment about ANGUS YOUNGS teeth when he was much younger. TALK B ASS MODERATOR censored my reply " saying" I was TROLLING " 😂 I didn't know passing Judgement on someone else's lack of teeth on A BASS SITE was perfectly fine with TALK B ASS moderators. Well it wasn't fine with me , So I replied what I thought about his post. my reply wasn't trolling , it was truth According to a moderator , I'm a bad person and must be silenced and banned from TALK B ASS. I guess the right to say and post anything is only for the judgemental and " the I'm better than U . Thankyou TALK B ASS for banning me. BASSCHAT is so much better for a BASS PLAYER.

I don't look at any ads I just see crazy expensive basses , IM talking like 10s of thousands of dollars for sale on some sites The Internet is full of thieves that are real good at the fkd up cons . I just look , I don't trust anyone trying to sell a 10 -20 30 thousand +- dollar bass. Who would , ? Someone that has no idea how many expensive basses ordered online are a Chinese copy of a BASS costing thousands and thousands of dollars. They pay a few hundred dollars and sell it online for thousands even 10s of thousands .of $ . The Internet has All the human knowledge ever thought of. And it has made people forget about common sense.

When I was playing bass for, maybe 2 years or so, I wasn't that good at bass yet. I've never taken a BASS lesson EVER !! , I'm proud of that now. I just thought if I took Bass lessons I wouldn't develop my own style , I'd be and play like the teacher whether I realized it or not. but I have been a paid by the length of the lesson BASS teacher with my own students at a music store in the late 90s I know wtf right. 🤔 Anyway I practiced every single day to an AM radio station or albums or 8 track tapes, I didn't even know about FM radio stations yet , FM stations weren't a popular thing back in the day. I've seen so many beginner bass players quit because they couldn't get really good in a month or two. They had no idea what it took to become a good musician . Practice , practice , and more practice , practice is never ending. To this day every time I put a bass over my shoulder I learn something new , and I play one of my basses every single day , and pretty much have since 1976 . Yea I love everything about the Bass guitar. I've been in a punk band , top 40 cover band , an 80s big hair/makeup/spandex almost metal but not really 😬 cover band , I started 2 original bands with 1 guitar player , and 2 bass players a traditional bass player and lead BASS player (me), keyboard and drummer., Every guitar player I knew didn't exactly hate us , but didn't wanna see a band with 2 bass players as good as we were either , Yea well 🖕. I joined up with an all ORIGINAL popular thrash band in ,93 thru 96 FATAL AGGRESSION I first saw FA in 1990 at a packed bar and over packed bar of METALHEADS and fine Kitty cat ;? ) in Reading Pa. They were young kids , like 15 - 16 yrs old I was in my late 20s I think or maybe early 30s a well known bass player around town Those kids in FA tore me a new ***hole that night , they were the best band I ever saw from Reading , by the way I'm a Philly boy but raised in Reading . Three years later , I was FAs BASS player, we released our 1st full length release in 1995 , titled DISRESPECT produced by a famous jazz Bassist at " SIGNAL SOUND STUDIO ' DISRESPECT is still selling, to this day , but it's selling for a little more than it did in 1995 it was $12 .00 now it's over ?60.00. BASS HAS BEEN BERY BERY GOOD TO ME So to all you Bass players just starting out LEARN IT - LIVE IT - LOVE IT work hard, YOUR ON YOUR WAY ENJOY THE LIFE OF A a metal or whatever you're into of a PROUD to be a proud BASS PLAYER . Remember metal in the 90's ? The band - FATAL AGGRESSION , the Bass player me from 94 - 98 , This thrash band was tearing up the metal scene in PA. NJ. NY MD. DE. clubs mostly , Biker Gigs , roller rinks , You name it, we probably did it. Our 1st full length release ( DISRESPECT ) was a departure from the speed metal/thrash band we were. We played shows with GWAR - POWER MAN 5000 - TYPE O NEGATIVE - SAVATAGE - FATES WARNING - PANTERA (early) side stage Lala Palooza JFK stadium Philadelphia .- 220 volt , to name a few. The Bass I paid 399.00 for in 2017 is one of the very best basses I've ever had. A BRICE FREAK 5 SINGLE CUTAWAY And I've owned alot of basses (expensive) Never again though . How bout you ?
