  1. Thats almost exactly what happened to mine. All the internal fuse holders were completely broken. In the end, literally just to test it, I actually soldered the fuses to the remains of the holder.  Love to hear how you compare this to the SVT 3pro when you get it running

  2. Thread resurrection but just wondered how you are finding the tubepath?  I had the 5.1 years ago but it got badly damaged in transit and never really got it working to its full potential but what i did hear sounded great. Reminded me very much of the Mesa Big Block 750 in that it had a very valvey growly tone to it

  3. I found the dadarrios very sticky and when that wore off they felt quite rough still.  Ive had great experience with the Elite's Groundwounds which are the same idea as the daddarios but cheaper and to me better.

Failing that if i ever have to use rounds (which i generally hate) i go for Fender 7150's.  Had a great fundamental, nice and smooth bit have more 'bite' than the above grounds

Couple more pics of my 2011 Ian Hill (which looks like it sat in its case, untouched, bar the missing control plate screws). Enjoying the slim neck profile

I had a Euro LX in the same colour scheme (black and gold) a while back and miss it.  That bass of yours is a stunner!

  5. Just took delivery of one of these and rather randomly I'm struggling to get the chassis out the wooden head case.  On first glance it seems there are two bolts on either side of the case that secure the amp inside but having removed these the amp wont budge.  Cant see any other obvious security measures I'm missing, the rubber feet screws dont seem long enough to penetrate into the chassis but I'm clearly missing something that is probably very obvious??

  6. Ashdown drophead 30w valve bass combo. Essentially Ashdowns answer to the classic Ampeg B15 - an all valve fliptop type combo. Fitted with castors and comes with fitted HotCovers padded cover. I also changed the silver pre-amp valve covers for black ones as it just looks cooler. Power valves and pre valves are all Ruby tubes. The ultimate motown tone with this and a flats loaded precision bass (not included in this sale)

I bought this in lockdown for something nice to play whilst i was holed up. Alas now the gigs are back on i need to fund something bigger for what we do.

Collection only from Bolton or can meet/deliver within reasonable distance. No trades on this im afraid

  7. Ampeg V4BH made by SLM in the USA in the 90’s I believe.  The SVT valve tone without the weight and need to drive it a building demolishing levels. This one comes with a belly full of the much sought after Svetlana Winged C 6L6GC’s and sounds glorious as one would expect. Comes with padded Hot Covers fitted cover and can run at 4 and 8ohms suiting most common cabs. Never gigged and rehearsed a handful of times. Alas the gigs have dried up so this must go ahead of my Ashdown valve combo.  £700 collected from Bolton or could deliver within reasonable distance. No trades at the moment please. Pics to follow asap
