Bass wood is cool. I have a MIJ, Silver Series Squier Jazz Bass it as tough as any other bass I've owned and has a great sound.

My first bass was a silver series p. Wish id never sold it. Didnt know it was basswood. Happy days -
Sorry double posted thanks for the replies

Thinking of picking a squier p bass (cv60s) great reviews but im put off by the bodywood. Bongos are basswood so it cant all be like cream cheese. Have i anything to fear?
Also can you fit a std bbot bridge to the 5 hole fixing on the cv60s bass
Ta muchly -
Is this alder or basswood? Quite a few Japanese reissue Ps seem to be basswood

Says video not available when i follow the links?

ive got the 5 string version. super basses well made with all the hardware from the £2K 2020 series. no longer made and harder to get hold of. maybe a future BB2000?

It's bogus, mate, it's got no strings for starters!
Only kidding, I have nothing useful to add.

and wondered if you guys could give me your opinion as to its authenticity. look too good to be true?

It does look a beauty mate, bet the B sounds great on it ;-)

It's my first 5er so I've nothing to compare it to but have to say it sounds great to me. Deep rich lows, equal response across the 5 strings and tons of sustain -

Letting it go Bri? Did you have the four string of this too at one point? If I had the money and needed a fiver, you know I love the Yams ;-)
thinking of it Bobby. But TBH its that good I'm only gonna put it up for a few days and may well just keep it if I don't see something I really fancy.
Yes had the 4 string in Caramel brown but this 5er in black seems even better than that one. Set up was great out the box and I've not had to tweek a thing. Band looks like its gonna becomea trio and I tried a maple boarded P bass with a pick last week and it just sounded right so that was my thinking.
However I can get a good p Bass sound from the BB so its no great shakes. Fit, finish and build are up there with the early 2000s stingray I owned which was spot on and Ive had this from new so I'm not convinced I should get rid -
My Yamaha BB 1025 has had no interest so I'm selling my recently acquired CV P bass in sonic blue..
think its a 2008 as the serial number starts with an 8 but not sure on this series.
excellent condition and has reignited my P bass love (and gas!)
Don't have a case so pick up or meet if poss but if a courier was needed I'm sure something could be sorted

letting it go for what I paid a few weeks ago £250 -
Ive been thinking of selling my 1025 and going back to a p bass but only cos the band line up has changed and a p might suit better. Its the best built bass ive had and compares to stingrays ive had for fit and finish. Anyone tempted to buy with confidence they are awesome basses. Worth more than every penny!

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between these and the sb700 passive? Ta

+1
I have a BB1025 string spacing is great and b string is nice and tight. the 425 is very similar, I have played a 424 which I thought nailed the P bass sound better than the 1024 I had at the time. so for £250 you can have a brand new 5 string p bass for a 5th of the cost of a fender 5er. cant go wrong IMHO -

Those flexx basses look nice. Similar price to a 'jake' tuners look to be better quality but thats not a deal maker. Anyone any experience of them?

It'll be a 70's Fender 'A' neck which fits that description. Spot on!

Last few basics have gone for quite a bit lower. Wont suggest a price her as its your sale. I ended up Px'ing mine to bass direct. Shame as they are really top quality instruments. Light weight with a great neck and pre amp. Have a bump.
