I just purchased a Squier Sonic P bass for $175. The fit and finish was amazing for a made in China guitar. The sound is pretty good too. I just purchased a new pickup and electronics for it that cost the same as the guitar so the cost of the bass is now $370, which isn’t too bad. I will probably upgrade the tuning machines, and maybe the nut and bridge just for fun in the future. I don’t know if you can purchase from Guitar Center, but if you can I’d recommend checking them out.

Just had my back surgery. They found a tumor on my spine! The pain is gone, but the back is still sore from the 5 hour surgery. I’m finally able to practice again. Just having fun going between my old J bass and Newport bass.

I use the Boss Waza Air Bass. Basically a practice amp in headphones. A little expensive but sound good and you can walk around playing anywhere you want and not bother anybody.

67 years of age and will be 68 next March. Still trying to live my rock & roll fantasy. I have a really nice 96 Fender American Standard J bass and I just got a limited addition Squire P bass which seems to be surprisingly good. Still learning and having back pain issues that don’t allow me to practice much but hopefully surgery in January will fix that. Hope to be screwing around with a band by this time next year.
