...but with excessive distortion/od you can just shake a guitar bass and get the boss sound of the strings smacking against eachother.

Natural wood finishes
Massive headstocks (eg. Fender)
battered instruments that show use
Strings sticking out loose from tuning pegs
mystery unlabeled pedals
gaffer taped on straps.

hate
shiny babysat basses
led necks
fleabasses

3.
why the shielding...do make sure the bridge is earthed cleanly..the pots arent needed any more leave them wired up but not connected to the pup...no signal..no noise
Ah cool, what should I lash the lead coming from the bridge too then, the cold lug on the jack?

4. I have a P-Bass with a DiMarzio Split-P pickup in it, wired straight down to the jack.

When i've sheilded the cavity and the back of the plate will the jack fitting ground it? once the lead from the bridge is grounded too?

Thanks!!

p.s. is it just worth lashing the knobs back in even though they aren't used?

5.
I don't go on stage wearing scruffy old jeans and a grubby T-shirt, I care about my appearance and that extends to the instruments I use.
I do go on stage wearing scruffy old jeans and a grubby T-shirt and I've been known to gaffer tape the scrap on my instruments. My P-Bass has no gaffer on though.

6. my power amp has the following specs.

Specifications
4Ω stereo: 2 x 300Wrms
8Ω stereo: 2 x 150Wrms
8Ω bridged: 1 x 400Wrms
Max power: 800Wmax @ 8Ω

I run it into 2 cabs rated 500 @ 8ohms, so i get 150 watts per cab meaning 300 watts? is this correct?

7.
Matamp 8x10, mine was the 2nd one made, technically the first one made to be sold and they figured it would sound cool, not sure how many others they have called this
Ahh yeah, i was looking at it as if the centre was the split between two 4x10s, silly me.

8. You won't have heard of any of my bands, we're all pretty small, I've just played enough gigs to spot if a promotor is gonna try and rip us off or not, playing your own stuff though, all you're really asking for is enough money to pay for your travel to the gig and your ale for the night, it's not in anyway a manner to make money, even when selling vinyl/cds/tapes and tshirts or whatever your wares are.

"It's big, green and ferocious. Frankenstein's monster? Good guess, but no. Introducing the Fender® Sub-Lime™ ass fuzz pedal.

Set it at your feet between you and your speakers, and transform the sound of your bass with classic
Fender fuzz ranging from the barest touch of evil to an utterly seismic roar. Best of all, tailor your tone by setting the crossover frequency wherever you want the fuzz to happen--low-frequency fuzz, high-frequency fuzz and anything in between--all without sacrificing all-important low-end muscle and fundamental bass tone.

Dressed in sublime lime green, the big, heavy-duty cast design evokes Fender's great old pedals of the '70s and boasts an enormous control dial that fluoresces entrancingly from green to red as you

Simple volume and drive controls let you easily dial in the loudness and range of fuzz tones. Runs on 9-volt battery or DC power."

Anyone heard about or seen one of these? I'm quiet interested cause I'm a massive fan of the Fender Blender's harshness.
