  1. help please.started playing with a new band,hardcore/alt/punk stuff.want to know what would the drawbacks be using a fretless? is there anything that would not work sonically in relation to tunings or anything like that? any input would be great, tim.

  2. Hi all, been hearing rave reviews about the Ibanez sr700 bass.anyone here use one?also want to know how they compare to the higher end prestige models.any info appreciated.thanks, tim

  3. bought this off another member about 6 weeks back, decided to sell as i have had a boogie 2x15 and decided to keep that one, sound is more fitting to what am doing at the moment.its a jcm 800 2x15, 500watt at 8 ohm cab.amazing condition, its mint. light too, easily transportable.fits in the back of a clio with the seat down.get in touch if you are interested, tim

  4. two questions need answering people.first off i need a new set of strap locks. who make the best ones???? and i will be needing a lead to go from a power amp to my cab.speakon to jack.any ideas where i can get something really good? thanks, tim

  5. Currently sporting my spector legend /performer.its the one with the hz pickups and black hardware.love it too bits.not sure if its because i learnt on it and did my first 300 gigs with it but it feels more natural to me than anything to play. I have had it defretted and may look into doing something with the electronics in future.paid 300 pounds for it brand new about 8 years ago.not sure if its a good price but feels like it to me.t

  6. Hey all, saw one of these at the crack converters in swansea yesterday.it was blue sunburst with a white inlay around the body.looks pretty sweet.dont know anything about them so anybody got any info?they wanted £220 for it put they can be haggled.t

  7. i thought i would miss the low b myself but drop tuning and using a hipshot has sorted my needs.you have made a lot of sense for me there rayman.i meant more boutique bass than high end.the road bass option is probably a safe bet too.thats what i enjoy about seeing band dvd's when it shows their recording process, when they get the museum pieces out instead of their usual p or jazz basses.but i still have not seen many people like the majority of us on these sites putting in custom orders for high end stuff with four strings.

  8. the l2000/2500 hundreds are amazing.i have a 5 string for sale, you are more than welcome to come and try it if you are in the south wales area for an idea on the sounds.i played a few over the years and they seem to do much more than fenders and music man basses.really good bits of kit, i will not bother asking what styles of music you play, if you get one it wont matter as the bass will cope with it.t

  9. all i seem to see is fenders and warwicks in the pop side of things.the odd music man,i aint seen hardly any spector, ken smith, mtd, wal in the charts.unless they have been using session guys, and then most of them seem to be using 5 strings.

  10. have gone back to playing four strings, been playing a 5 string for the last 5 years.looking into a high end four string at the moment to make the jump next year.thinking mtd 435 or spector euro lx.my question is though, why do most high end compaines seem to attract 5 string players and not the 4 stringers.it may just be me but most high end companies seem to supply all the pro 5 stringers and four stringers tend to stick with warwick or fender.am i wrong????is there a reason behind this?t

  11. Have just put a new rig together on a budget.will put pics up in a few days.
    Goes like this =
Line 6 Bass Pod XT Live QSC RMX1450 power amp Mesa Boogie 2x15 All in all pretty much covers me for most situations and all easily transportable but loud enough for anything!
