  1. Bought a pre off a fellow basschatter. Was wanting something easy to use just to push a signal. Had never heard of the Peavey Max before so was not expecting too much. As soon as my mate and i tried it we were gobsmacked! This suits my needs much much more than my previous pre amp!MY AGUILAR DB680 that i moved on to another fellow basschatter! I cannot get over how thick a sound i can get from the unit.It sounds huge! If anybody else scomes accross another one please let me know,as a spare! I need to get a footswitch now though to use both channels without using my hands.any ideas???? I have never ever thought of buying peavey gear beforebut this has absolutely changed my perception of their equipment.t

  2. Looking to add a tuner to my rig.just sold my line 6 floor unit.right then, dont mind in being racked or on the floor.wondering what every one else would reccomend.strobostomp?korg?boss tu2?any info will be good.know this has been done before but just need reassuring before i throw money at one.t

  3. hey hey.am waiting for my peavey max bass pre amp to arrive from will(longtimedead).absolute top bloke.do business with this man! anybody else used one of these pre amps? heard and read good reviews on them but never actually seen one myself.i was after something new and this sounds like it will fit the bill perfectly,no messing.any feedback will be good,t

  4. I just picked up a qsc rmx 1450 for £150 off the bay.i dont find it heavy, never carried a plx one though. it seems that the qsc's and yamaha p series are the popular ones for bass rigs.i used to have a yamaha p7000, i found it quite noisy and it rattled every now and again.apparently if something goes wrong with a qsc,it is easy enough to get parts for them too.

  5. sorry to hear.check your local music shops, but dont stop pestering them.the thieves may hold on to it for a bit before trying to shift it as has been known in my neck of the woods.keep checking you local crack converters/cash generator/pawn shops too. and if you have and form of free ads/ad trader paper in your area keep checking that. absolute wan*&rs!

  6. Right then. I have owned a few top end basses. I now only play my spector legend 4. I dont know if its because its the bass I learnt on but, I think they are brilliant, and not just for the money. I went to buy an ibanez prestige or the sr 700 at the least a few weeks back, I was very unimpressed with both. My mate who works in the shop showed me what he had juast bought seconhand.a korean spector legend 6 string for £200 which has made his prestige redundant. I prefer the korean and rebop to the american models.this is pobably a personal thing. Dont know if this helps, tim

  7. personally, out of that lot I would go for the ken smith.main reason being I have heard them used in loads of different styles.metal to hip hop.one of my favourite players in one of my fave bands, pulse ultra used one, as does dizzee rascals live bass player.my two pence worth anyway.t

  8. anyone use the bass driver deluxe model?or something similar?looking for something to use to drive a power amp instead of an amp and for general di studio application.t

  9. thanks for the feedback guys.do you know of any players that use fretless basses for heavier styles?i can only think of les claypool and steve di gorgio from the metal band death.might be worth me checking out some people for guidance,t
