  1. Good progress this morning. Got a message yesterday that the keys player had called it a day but a replacement had been located. Excellent ability and a great guy who just fits in. Result 👏.

I took along the SR2600 today which sounded immense. Had a SR500 14yrs ago, had forgotten how good Ibbys feel.

So, we can start moving forward again and hopefully soon be able to put out some '80s vibes in North Yorkshire. Happy days 😃

So there is the same photo of a black Music Man Bongo bass guitar and case being sold for £65, which you may have seen, by at least four different dodgy profile sellers (and different additional ones appear each night)  in at least four different locations around the UK and so I reported all four adverts to FB, as they take scams seriously, at the same time and guess what? This is what the said!

"Thanks again for your report. This information helps us reduce unwanted content for you and others.

We use a combination of technology and human reviewers to process reports and identify content that goes against our Community Standards. In this case, we did not remove the content that you reported"

Beggars belief! A Music Man Bongo Bass for £65!😂

Standard fb response to a complaint that they can't be bothered to act upon.🙄

  3. Re Kwik Fit. It was 25yrs ago when I worked for them briefly. Vehicle servicing wasn't on the menu then, the 'technicians' earned bonus targeting the higher profit margin work. £1 per tracking, £2 per shock absorber etc, you get the idea. Problem was the decent guys left because they took pride in their work and mot testers, of which I were one, were pressured into failing things unnecessarily. Oh and our depot manager smoking weed alongside the young lads and the regional manager was ex DFS salesman. I departed to pastures new and never looked back.

Kwik fit. Around 2005 my wife took our Ford Focus in for its mot. They said to her it needed £600 worth of work as the brake disc, drums on the back, pads  and shocks needed changed. Took it to a local garage that was recomended by a friend and it passed its mot easily. And the garage has looked after our cars ever since. The mechanic in my local place said that KF were notorious for trying to rip folk especially women off.

I found myself in the unfortunate situation of working for Kwik-Fit for a few months after they bought out a decent fast fit that I had been with for 13yrs. What we were told to do by management to rip folk off was shocking. I didn't hang around long. AVOID at all times.

  5. My first was something called a 'Zenta'. An EB-0 copy which was essentially a lump of plyboard with some strings nailed to it, 25 quid 1975. It was dreadful but I didn't know any better back then. Replacement was a Aria Les Paul long scale, far superior. The Zenta suffered the axe treatment.

  6. Well I haven't been on Basschat five minutes compared to a lot of you. From day one I've felt welcome unlike one of the Ford RS forums I'm on.

How I've missed this one for so long I just don't know. Pretty sure I'll be around for a while. Cheers everyone 👍

  7. Evri driver knocked on my door 3 times within a fortnight trying to deliver the same parcel. The postcode on it related to a property 30 miles away. Couldn't make it up. 🙄
