  1. I was given parts for the Epiphone Embassy basses from a friend at a local music store, they came out of the rental pool, and had been abused to some degree. Since I am a guitar technician I decided to restore them, and possibly donate them to the local high school. Every one had the bridge too far back on the body. A 34 inch scale bass should have the same 17 inch distance from the nut to the 12th fret, and from there to the bridge saddles, allowing for some saddle stagger. These all had 18 inches to the saddles! I had to move the bridge forward a full inch to get it intonated. Cannot imagine how a student was able to play it, it was a semitone out at the octave. Never seen anything like this before
