    The demos sound really good.

What are the Ampeg 1 knob compressors like? I'm always on the lookout for good amps with good built in compressors!

Well if it’s the same as the SGT-DI compressor it’s awful.

Im interested in the 700 version but not a fan of the design and really hoped they would include the DI cab sims like on the SGT-DI

  2. Reduced to £850(now £825)(now £800,£780,£750 price drop.

    Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass.

This is a rare bass as it was for the Japanese market and features proper Jazz pickup configuration compared to the regular Aerodyne which has a P pickup and a Jazz bridge pickup.

This is configured like a regular jazz with Volume for each pickup plus a master tone.

Everything is slightly downsized on this epic bass. The head stock is smaller, the pickguard, it’s like it went into a shrinking machine to make a more compact jazz bass which for people like me with smaller hand and short at 5ft 5 1/5 it doesn’t look as silly as a full sized Jazz.

Id say it’s in 9.5/10 condition with a few small scratches and a small bump I pictured .Frets are in fantastic shape as it has flats on most the time.

I tried to weight it and it said 7.5lbs but they’re not accurate,I do know that my Precision says 8.6lbs on the same scales. It does feel lighter and slimmer body.

I love the binding detail also on these.

pickup from Pe27 3FW or I could post in a proper box and package very well in a gig bag inside a box.

  3. Yeah I noticed when o briefly had the SVT7Pro that I was at about 3 o’clock on the volume and didn’t feel like I was putting out 700 or so watts.

But with my GK legacy 800 I’m usually at about 11 o’clock and has plenty more volume on tap. I’d say 800 GK watts easily beats Ampegs 1000 watts. I think the Ampeg svt7 should be around 500-600 in truth

Suggest you draw simple banana curve around your thumb and let me know the dimensions and the height you want. Something like this below is fine.

Also how are you going to attach it to the bass? A screw hole or double sided sticky tape? If it's a hole then whats the diameter of the hole, if it's sticky tape, you might need a little more surface area to stick it on.

    I’ll have a look later . Thanks

I stuck a small oblong of black perspex-y material (I think it was the remains of a smashed camera filter) on the scratchplate of my Sterling as a very thin anchor/thumbrest. It worked very well.

I think the point I'm trying to make :)  is that rest doesn't have to be that thick to be effective. The piece I used was about 3mm thick.

    HTH

Yeah agreed. The little sticky pad I have on there now is 3mm high.

If you can give me a design, back of fag packet will do, I'll print it up for you for free and send it out.

    The more details the better.

    Thanks

That’s very kind of you. I wouldnt know where to start though. Just want something small and maybe curved or shaped.

At the moment I’ve just stuck on of those small square rubber pads you get with effects pedal that you take off to put Velcro on. Actually not bad at just having a home place for my thumb to feel but something shaped like the Bass Buddy would be ideal.

Zero-Mod makes several different thumb-rests. You can cut it smaller if you like, of course, and it icurved.

Other than that, something like the Bass Buddy thumb-rest should be easy to make with a 3-D printer.
