Hi from a Bournemouth neighbour. I've just spent about six months looking for a matching pair of these, and just got sorted about three weeks ago. Sod's law! GLWTS

Ah sod's law indeed! Glad you got hold of some in the end though 🙂

  2. Hello,

Up for sale are a pair is now just the one of these lovely Barefaced Two10 cabs. All in perfect working order and great condition.

They have a 500w handling, and a weight of only 13kg. These are the switchable impedance version, switching between 4 and 12 ohms.

I bought these new in the summer of 2019, about a month apart from one another. They've been well gigged, but always looked after. They look almost new actually thanks to the included Roqsolid AmpGuard covers.

They're lovely cabs, as light and as loud as you could ever want, and they obviously sound fantastic. Sadly though I need to release a bit of cash, so I'm using something less posh for now.

Based on current prices, I'm asking £550 each. No trades or offers, thanks. Happy to sell together or separately.

    Collection from Broadstone in Dorset.

    Any questions, please ask. Cheers!

  3. Hello,

Up for sale is my custom Cog Knightfall from 2016.

This is basically a single channel version of the Knightfall 66 distortion, in an MXR style enclosure.

Controls for Level, Gain, Tone, and Voice ("The Voice knob adjusts pre-gain low end providing additional control over the shape of the overdrive")

It also has two switches inside for some different diode clipping options.

A really nice versatile drive pedal with plenty of lows - capable of giving your clean sound a bit more of a valve thing, or a grindy distortion, and everything in between.

I always felt it sounded very natural, like an overdriven version of the sound that you put into it.

Asking £255 posted for this. Hopefully that's a fair price, as Cog stuff is becoming quite collectable, and as far as I know this pedal is a one off.

Any questions shoot me a DM.

  4. D&A Starfish+ stand for sale.

Great condition, only left the house a few times. All working perfectly.

It's a great design that I don't think could ever break. Might be the sturdiest stand there is!

These are £80 on Bass Direct at the moment, so hopefully £50 collected is fair. Any questions please DM me. Thanks!

  6. This is my Jazz!

I asked for a few differences with mine:

    Fender Hi-Mass Bridge

    Hipshot Ultralite Tuners

Master Volume / Pickup Blend / Master Tone wiring

It plays great, sounds great, resonates nicely, and balances perfectly. Also I think it looks rather cool too.

  7. I just wanted to share on this thread some of my experiences about my Limelight Jazz bass I received in May this year.

I'd read about the tarnished screws earlier here no longer being an issue, so I ordered with confidence, but it was still a major issue with mine. The setup that the bass arrived with wasn't great, so when I came to sort it out, I found that had to replace the bridge completely because I couldn't adjust anything effectively. Mark did send a replacement, to his credit. Also many of the pickup screws were almost impossible to remove, let alone adjust. After an insane struggle trying to get them out, I replaced them with some new plain black ones.

This is a long story cut very short, but after a lot of back and forth, and a decent setup from my normal local tech, the bass is playing and sounding wonderful. The paint job and the fretwork and everything is really great.

I don't want to put anyone off buying a Limelight, because I'm really enjoying mine now, and Mark was a nice chap to deal with, and we did get there in the end. But if you're thinking about ordering one, I'd just suggest asking him to use new screws instead of the tarnished ones. That fact nearly ruined my bass completely!

  8. Hello,

For sale are these short scale, La Bella, Deep Talking Bass, 760 FM-S strings. Gauge - .109, .089, .069, .049.

The packet has been opened, but the strings are as new and untouched. Annoyingly I now realise I need the medium scale version for my bass....

These were £44 posted from Bass Direct, so I'm offering these for £30 inc p&p. Hopefully that's fair.

Any questions, shoot me a message.

    Cheers!

Very nice very nice. Any chance of breakdown of what you use on the HX Stomp? been eyeing one up for a small while and had a play on a Helix rack last night.

    Yeah sure, I can try!

I like the Stomp for an 'anything extra' kind of thing. So I use my own fuzz and octave down pedals for most gigs, then I'll change the preset on the Stomp for the other things I might need for that situation. Commonly that's the Poly Capo for a POG Octave up kind of sound, the Line 6 Envelope Filter, the 70s Chorus, and the Script Phaser. I also run the line 6 own compressor as an always on thing. But as well I use the synth sounds a fair bit, the delays and reverbs, the looper, the freeze. The Poly Capo is useful sometimes too if you have the odd song in a set that's in Eb standard, rather than lose time tuning down the bass for one song. It tracks well and works just fine.

I'd recommend it - it's a real swiss army knife thing. I've always liked to experiment with different sounds, and it's allowed me to have all the sounds I'd ever need, but not lug a huge board (that's bigger than the guitarists'!) around with extra stuff that I might not need on that particular night. I can't see me changing any time soon!

That's a very interesting little pedalboard... I wonder if there's enough space under the tier for "set and forget" pedals... Hmm... @Spoonman can you confirm?

Maybe! Depends on the pedals I suppose. It gets a bit crowded after you squeeze your power supply and cabling in, but something tiny might squeeze in. It's about 42mm of height, and then 85mm of depth under there, from a quick measure of mine. You can change the positioning of the rungs on the board though, so the depth can be different. Mine has ended up with a bit of pedal overlap of the top shelf over the bottom. This is what the back and sides look like if it helps...
