  1. Awesome, thanks for that! The layout looks identical but some of the components are different like the DemonFX using a 74HC573D where the Sonic Research is using a MM74HC. The smaller visible board seems to handle the display of the pedal. The larger board underneath deals with the actual tuning circuitry. It's interesting that some of the board underneath looks identical (the traces, vias, and R26/C15 up top, R39 bottom right), but also a lot of the circuit underneath the jacks is missing. I might need to grab one of each and do a proper teardown to see what's going on and where any latency is coming from. It could be a lag in the display circuit due to the different chips, or a slower tuning circuit if a different schematic is being used (or the same circuit with different chips again)
  2. I'm more interested in seeing the internals to get an idea of what actual circuit they're using, or how they're doing DSP. It looks like the ST-200 uses a MM74HC
  3. I was looking for a new tuner and came across this. There doesn't seem to be much information about it online. Any conversations I've seen have turned into the ethics of cloning a pedal. The exterior of the DemonFX pedal is a blatant ripoff of the Sonic Research Turbo Tuner but does anyone know if the internals are the same or is it the same as all the other cheap tuner pedals floating around? At £35 it's a fraction of the price of the genuine pedal, but it's pretty expensive if it's as slow and noisy as the Donner type pedals. I'm almost curious enough to get one to have a peek at the insides.
  4. I bought a Schecter studio 4 from Rob and was happy with the entire process. He agreed to ship it even though it was listed for collection. He gave a choice of couriers and packed it super securely so there was no chance of any damage. Remained in constant communication throughout the entire process which was reassuring. Super friendly guy, no issues at all, and I'd highly recommend him.
