  1. I bought this about 2 years ago, but have done very little with it - I don't really play bass anymore so want to move it on.

It's in excellent condition; I've only played one (very civilised, jazz) gig with it, and I don't think there's a mark on it. I have, however, made one modification - a Hipshot string tree (see photos). It's currently strung with flats (Chromes).

Sounds lovely, plays brilliantly with a good low action. When I bought it, I tried all the Mexican Precisions in the shop (i believe it was five), and picked my favourite.

On the scales it comes in at a smidge over 3.9kg / 8.6lbs.

I'm based just outside Nottingham in the Vale of Belvoir - but I'm happy to travel a bit to meet halfway, etc. I'd rather not post as I don't have a hard case for this, only a gig bag (which will also be included in the sale). The bag is a good quality one, with lots of generous padding, but still I'd rather not risk a courier.

I'm not really interested in trades, unless they're acoustic guitar or mandolin related.

  2. MarkBass Bass Keeper - excellent for gigs where it can hold your bass just by being attached to the carpet covering of a cab, or around the carrying handle on the side.

The velcro has come away a little inside, but it still works absolutely fine - it's been like this for about 5 years now, and hasn't failed with pretty regular gigging.

    £5 including UK delivery.

  3. A few music books for sale - there may be some pencil marks, but I'll try to rub these all out.

Standing in the Shadows of Motown - £10 (inc. UK delivery) - SOLD

Great book transcribing James Jameson's lines, with a lot of history on Jameson, Motown and The Funk Brothers. Please note that this is only dots - not tab. 2 CDs are included.

Jazzology- £7 (inc. UK delivery) - SOLD

Really good book for anyone wanting to get into jazz theory. Full of exercises to test the brain.

Learn to Play Bass Manual - £7 (inc. UK delivery) - SOLD

Goes from the complete beginner to the very advanced; decent book to learn from for players of any ability. 2 CDs included.

  4. PRICE DROP - £290 / £320 WITH UK DELIVERY

Fender Rumble 2x10 combo. About 18 months old, in great condition; one nick in the tolex which I've glued back in place, and the plastic logo has been replaced with a metal one.

Great sounding, light (around 16kg) and loud combo, which can do modern or vintage tones.

Fender footswitch for drive channel included.

Based in Nottingham - £290 ono, or I can ship to UK (with insured courier) for £320.

  5. As I'm taking a (possibly permanent) hiatus from playing, I'm selling off some gear. This is an absolutely lovely P bass, definitely the best I've had, perhaps the best I've played.

It has been gigged so there is some wear, but it's in pretty decent condition, with a beautiful sunburst over the ash body, and lovely mint green scratchplate.

The neck is really comfy. Classic 60's P, so wide but slim front to back. Weight is just over 10lbs according to my bathroom scales.

This is one of the older Korean models with the Lindy Fralin pup, and it sounds simply glorious.

Overall, beautiful to play, beautiful to hear and beautifully made. :)

It's currently strung with Fender flats which are quite new; they need a bit of aging to reach their full thumpiness. Neck is lovely and straight with no issues, and action is low.

I will include a Fender tweed hardcase in the sale; it's a bit old and marked but perfectly functional.

I can courier in the UK for £600 ono, or buyer collects (Nottingham) for £550 ono. Not interested in any trades I'm afraid.

  6. Set of Ernie Ball Cobalt flats 45, 65, 85, 105. Cut for a P bass.

I bought these a few weeks ago, and have been on my bass for a week or so. In total they've probably had about 6-7 hours of playing.

Selling as I bought these to try out - I love TI's but sometimes have a hankering for rounds. I thought these would be the best of both worlds, but for me, they don't really do the gruff flat thing with the tone knob down; they're just a bit too zingy! That said, I'm sure they'd sound great on a jazz or stingray, or something a bit more modern.

Price includes UK delivery - happy to take PayPal for these.

  7. I had one, and found it pretty great. Very loud and present, and you can get loads of different tones from them. The lack of tweeter doesn't mean it's lacking in high end either - perhaps not hifi Marcus sounding, but really musical.

  8. Likewise, I've had a couple of PF350s and they were great; never had an issue. I got the second as a backup after reading the horror stories of the PF500, but all was good. I had one mounted in one of the fliptop cabs, and one loose; both were regularly gigged without any problems whatsoever.

IMO, the 350 has a much better voiced mid control too.

  9. I'm interested in hearing some opinions on these strings, from those who have been using them.

I seem to go back and forth from flats (currently GHS) to rounds (Sunbeams); when I use the former I miss the top end, but when I use rounds I miss the strong fundamental. These really look like the best of both worlds, and demos I've heard on YouTube have been impressive.

But, do they last as long as normal flats? And what's the feel and tension like?

  10. Lovely Yamaha BB for sale. Great sounding and playing bass, in excellent condition. I've been wondering whether or not to sell this as it's really fab, but it simply isn't being played.

Good setup with low action, and currently fitted with GHS flats. I don't have a hardcase, so I'd rather not post, but I'm happy for the buyer to collect (from Nottingham) or meet halfway, etc. I have a decent gigbag which I will throw in.

Looking for £225 ONO. Not interested in any trades at the moment.

  11. I have two Ashdown MAG cabs for sale; a 2x10 (with tweeter) and 1x15.

These are cheap cabs, but sound pretty good. Both are rated at 250W and are in good functional condition, but corners are scuffed, etc.

    MAG 210T Deep II - 250W, 29KG

    MAG 115 Deep - 250W, 27KG

Of course I'm open to offers (no trades please), but I'm looking for £75 per cab, or I'll do both for £130.

Collection from Nottingham - I don't have packing to ship, but could deliver (within reasonable distance) for petrol money.
