1. Hi Guys
Ive been trying to sort this for ages now myself but I'm getting nowhere so thought I'd check with you guys on here.
I keep getting the occasional pop and/or crackle and/or multiple split second cut outs coming from somewhere on my bass rig.
It only happens about once every 30 minutes or so and its happened both in my house and at various gigs.
Sometimes it sounds like the pot is loose (its not) and produces a very short crackly sound, sometimes it sounds like its a pop or a few split second total cut-outs.

Ive tried disconnecting each and every pedal, lead and patch lead and they all play fine on their own. But put them together and every once in a while I get these problems. Ive also replaced ALL the leads recently.

My set up is as such:-

Fender P Bass(s)
AKG GB 40 guitar bug
AKG SR 40 Receiver (powered separately)
TRS lead into Boss TU-2 tuner
Patch lead into Behringer Ultra Bass Chorus
Patch lead into Ibanez PD7 Phat-Hed
Lead into amp.

All pedal are powered off the TU-2 tuner.

Then I also have an Audio Technica M3 IEM system (powered separately) and a TC Helicon E1 Voicetone vocal pedal (powered from TU-2).

Anyone else ever had problems like this or could advise a little?
It really is bugging the hell out of of me. I suspect that it may have something to do with the SR40 as when I go into the tuner directly with a lead from my bass I dont THINK I get these problems. Ive tried a new GB40 guitar bug (luckily on the same frequency) but I still get the issues, so I can assume its not the bug.

Many thanks in advance.

2. Hi there
I never said I wanted to use £4 headphones. This is my exact reason for being on here to NOT Use £4 headphones.
Neither did I say that I take the headphones out of my ears, either one or partially, nor am I thrapping the output volume on the vocal feed.
The only monitoring going on is two vocals and thats all that is needed. We can't all run independant mixes as I explained earlier my desk will only handle two.
Yes, 2 x vocals, bass, guitar, kick and snare are mic'd up, but all that is used in the monitor mix is vocals.
Again I stress I don't want to be completely isolated in my monitor mix.
Cheers

3. Hi there
Ive got an Audio Technica M3.

I just use it for vocals (while I'm playing bass at the same time) so I want something aimed for vocals.
I want the leakage of what else is going on around me.
I do not want to have to use any more mics for ambience.
I want them to be secure and not fall out (I move around a LOT on stage).

Anything else you need to know?
Cheers

4. Hi all
I recently purchased an in ear monitoring system that I use just for vocals when I sing and play bass.

I want some headphones that:-

a) Will stay on my head and in my ears.
b ) Allow bass and other sounds through from the outside world.
c) Sound decent for vocals.

I dont want to be totally enclosed/blocked up with them as I want to hear whats going on on stage. I also want some nice clarity and volume in my vocals from them.

I'm currently using
http://www.jvceshop....aeb75_black.jpg
as they are sports/running ones, so as much as the ear bud doesnt always stay directly in my ear, the ear clips stop them from falling out/off my ears....plus they were stupidily cheap at about £4 delivered.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

5. I'm not selling this, its just going to get used as a home practise cab, which is why I dont want to spend that much money on it.
I know how much these are worth brand new, but they are simply not worth 2nd hand what they used to be.
(£500 to £125 is a depreciation of 75% which is pretty crazy if you think about it.)
I'm not trying to have an arguement with anyone here, I just need a "Cheap and chearful" solution please.

6. Hey all
Any suggestions on the above?
Ive been looking at some replacement speakers such as Peavey and Eminense (If you can even get Eminense in the UK) but your talking about £100.

The entire Ampeg SVT-15EN only goes for about £125, so it really not worth spending £100 on a new speaker, nor is it worth getting it reconed etc.

Anyone got any suggestions on a cheap ish reoplacement?
In it currently is an Eminense 86-511-08 15846 8 ohm, 200w RMS.
Its never really ever going to get gigged as it'll only be used to practise on.

Suggestions?
Ta

7. I insured with www.gclloyds.co.uk

Our policy states:

Policy Number: xxxxxx
Customer Number: xxxxxx
The Insured: (Name of band)
Specific Trade: Musician (Band under 6 members)
Effective Date/Time: xx/xx/xxx
Expirary Date/Time: xx/xx/xxx
Public Liability: £1,000,000
Employers Liability: Not Included
Products Liability: Included, Indemnity: £1 Million

This to me says that the BAND is insured.
Thoughts?

8. Hey all
I'm a little confused about Public Liability Insurance.
For instance lets say its one band with three members. These three band members only ever perform together in this one group.

Does there need to be only one person in the band that has PLI for live performances?
Or do all members need their own PLI?
Will one persons PLI cover the entire band?
Can you insure a "Band" (So say dep players come in and out)?

any help?

Thanks

9. Sorry but I couldnt find a relevant forum section to put this under, so please move it if necessary.
I've been offered some work on a cruise ship, but the T&Cs state NO ALCOHOL WHAT SO EVER. And it is stated many many times. I cannot either bring it on board or buy it from the ships many bars.

Now, I'm no alcoholic and never drink before or during a gig, but who doesnt like a nice cold beer after a long hot sweaty performance?

I'm just wondering if anyone else whose done cruise ships can advise if this is the norm or not?
Its just sounds so.....Nazi to me.
Its a 2 week back to back job and I guess I could live without alcohol for this time, but its not going to make my stay anymore enjoyable. Yes, I know its WORK by the way.

Anyone?
