If 2TSB is non-negotiable then ignore this. There is 50s MIM P in black at Bass Direct for £600; it's been there for a while so a better deal may be available: http://www.bassdirec...0s_Special.html

3. Hey all
Whats the nearest I can get to a Fender American Vintage '58 Precision Bass these days without paying stupid money?
So say like a Mexican with some added extras. (Gold anodised aluminium pickguard with lacquer finish, thumbrest etc)

I dont care about the chrome pickup and bridge covers.
Im not OVERLY bothered about the decal being 100% correct.

I basically want it to look like this in the end, with this exact body colour and maple neck

Thanks in advance

What about something like a drum case? A quick Google search using "18 inch drum case" brings up loads of options from cheap and cheerful soft cases to more expensive heavier duty options.

The only potential problem that I can foresee would be the stand that keeps the fan upright. If it can easily be removed I can't see it being an issue.

Cheers for your input but as I said in my initial post a round drum case isnt going to work I'm afraid.

5. Hi Guys
Im getting no where online myself so I thought I'd ask you guys if you have any ideas.
I use an 18" floor fan while on stage to keep me cool (I jump around quiet a lot) like this

The box it came in (Just cardboard) has nearly completely had it (Box dims 21" x 21" x 9") so I'd like to get a padded case for it so it wont get ruined but I cant find one suitable anywhere online.
(And at a good price, the fan itself was only £30)
Ive had a little look at repurposing a kick drum or even a mixer case but I cant find any in the kind of size I want (Kick drum cases arnt really going to work though as the fan isnt round with its leg).

Any thoughts anyone? As much thinking outside the box ideas also welcome.
Thanks

6. Hi Guys
We all use IEMs in my various bands and of course you can feel a little disjointed from the audience as you cant hear them very well.
So I was looking at sorting a channel for the audience so we can hear them better in our IEMs.

A few notes:
I want something thats quick to set up
I DONT want to set up another mic stand on stage.
I DONT want it to look too obvious that theres a mic recording the audience as I dont want them coming up and shouting down it.

I was thinking of some sort of clip on my existing mic stand that faces the audience holding a cleverly disguised mic that has some sort of half sphere cowling around the back to stop any backline spill.

Anyone done anything like this before or have a MUCH simpler way of doing this?
Thanks in advance.

7. Your definitely right here. Although the horn control on the back of the cab does increase the hiss its the amp thats the fault.
Its an Ashdown 500ABM (One of the first ones)

I had it running last night without the cab going straight into my desk via the DI and the hiss gets louder when adjusting the INPUT dial.
Adjusting the OUTPUT dial does not change the amount of hiss.

Thoughts?

8. Hey all
Im getting a load of hiss coming from my Ampeg SVT410HE Cab (Its about 20 years old now)
Its especially noisy when coming through the PA (Via DI), but can be dialed up and down with the High Frequency Horn Level Control on the rear of the cab.
The problem being that if I turn the HFHLC all the way down I of course loose all the high levels that are a good part of my sound.

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

9. Had the SE315 headphones through today.
Meh, theyre alright. They sound a lot like the SE215 headphones, but they'll do.
As with the SE215 the cable is VERY microphonic (Anyone know a fix for this?)

They defintely dont sound as good as my Audio Technia ATH-M40fs headphones, but then again they have a Frequency Response of 5 - 28,000 Hz, as opposed to the SE315 22hz-18.5kHz. But I didnt expect them to.

When these go I guess I'd better start looking at some "Decent" headphones for use with my IEM about triple the price I paid for the SE315 (£119 from DV247)

Anways, thanks for your help.

10. So, I took this into Steve at Musical Electronic Repairs & Spares (Within Madhouse Rehearsals in Birmingham) and he's sorted it.
All it was apparently was the valve was seriously on its way out (I guess I should have checked this out myself first).
So now theres no hiss at all (apparently)
But anyway its fixed now and I'm picking it up later, so will review it shortly.

Thanks for yoru advise everyone.
