1. I sold Sean a bass - he was very good to deal with - excellent communications throughout, payment as I requested and very promt, would recommend and would not hesitate to deal with again!

    Many Thanks,

    Rob

  2. Thanks Nige, im sorry too as its extremely portable and easy to get about, we had a full bass rig and full drum kit in my car on saturday night, and obviously me and the drummer!

Im not sure what il replace it with, but dont think il take up algmusics offer, although I do thank you for it.

    Rob

  3. Ive not had this long, and used it for one gig.

The portability factor is seriously good, but im not really getting the sound i want from it. Im using it with its 'partner' the Orange Terror 500.

Its really quite a good cab and many people on here have said so, i may well regret selling it.

For the size, it really is loud!! and pretty clear and defined too.

    Some info here: http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~O...10~ID~11493.asp

Anyway, new this cost me £430 so putting it up for....[s]£360[/s] £330

Im in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, so if your not far and want to try it then contact me. I still have the box so i can post this too at buyers expense.

    Heres a couple of photos

    Thanks,

    Rob

  4.
I've just seen these bodies for sale on Ebay :) :) - anybody thinking of putting together a custom Jazz could do worse than consider one of these!!

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/No3-Spalted-Maple-2-...=item1e605730b7
Ive seen them and do like them, although like some have mentioned the weight! wouldnt doing a lengthy gig with one.

Not sure what neck id go for either. I did think a dark fretboard ie, ebony but can only seem to find fretless ones of these....not for me!!

    Rob

  5. Thanks to everyone for your time and opinions...they did have one in a local shop so il see if its still about and give it a go.

The only thing that worrys is the digging into the arm part...obviously a few have said about weak pick ups but if i find this a problem for me i ca always swap them...pretty stuck with the fact it digs into you!

That red one looks pretty smart! il keep an eye out for that if you decided to sell...also thanks for the offer of a tester; may get back to you with that!

    Thanks

    Rob

  6.
Do the neck bolts go into brass/metal tapped ferrules on the neck of this bass?
Do you mean are there ferrules in the actual neck, or where the head of the bolts are countersunk into the body?

There are some in the body where the bolt heads are countersunk.

Im not sure about the neck as ive never took it off; i could do if thats what you want to know? Just out of interest thought mate, why do you want to know?

    Cheers

  7.
Hi,

I'm looking to trade my Jazz and your Status looks great.

Would you consider atrade deal for my 2007 Fender American 75 reissue.

Would be looking for a cash uplift as well.

    Let me know,

    Cheers
Hi,

Would be more interested in your Aerodyne Jazz; if you'd let it go and would like to discuss then PM please mate

    Cheers

  8. After much decision making ive decided to put this up for sale and get the Fender jazz bass ive been wanting for some time!

Not all that sure on its age (serial number is 141) but its in good condition and plays really great, and has low action. Its got some 'buckle rash' on the back and some wear above the bridge pickup where myself and previous owners have used it as a thumb rest. Ive shown this best as i can on the photos, although it seems to look slightly worse above the pickup; its doesnt show up as much in the flesh (or the wood!)

Ive put some black metal knobs on it for my taste but will send the original black plastic ones too incase anyone wants to restore it to original.

Hardcase is also in quite good condition, it does show its age but still protects the bass as it should. Also as its built for a headless bass its a bit shorter than a normal one, so it fits in the boot just right (ive got a vauxhall astra).

The strings on it are just a couple of months old, and il also include a brand new spare set of double ball strings, i wont be needing them when i get the Fender!

Not really looking for trades as ive got the jazz lined up already so looking for a cash sale of £580 including the new spare set of strings, also including postage, or £565 with the spare strings if buyer is to collect.

Any questions, please ask. I am in Rotherham, South Yorkshire if anyone wants to collect.

    Pics below.

    Many Thanks,

    Rob

  9.
What do you consider to be 'normal' capacitors? There are loads of types.
good point! the only ones ive used are the ones that come standard in fender jazz basses and ive played about with the different ratings; .033 and .047 are the ones that spring to mind. i think 'mylar' was the brand?

    thanks,

    rob

  10.
I've come into possession of some (more than I'll ever need!); Russian paper in oil caps. These are great in tone circuits - if like me, you use the tone control a lot.
Lovely, warm tones in P-Basses! :)

    Hi,

What is the difference between these and 'normal' capacitors??

    Thanks,

    Rob

  11.
I have some questions regarding this neck, if you don't mind:

What is the width at the nut in millimeters?

Will it fit on a Fender Precision bass?

    That's all...
Hi, The width at nut is 38mm

As for a Precision bass, im not too sure, but the bottom of the neck measures 61mm tapering down to 58mm where it would sit in the neck pocket; so i imagine if these measurements match the neck pocket on your precision then it will fit!

    Any more questions please ask.

    Cheers,

    Rob

  12. Thanks for the replies gents.

Ive been scouting the net as im not all too keen on the Ashdown head, and the Hartke LH500 looks pretty good for the money and ive read some good reviews.

    http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~H...00~ID~12217.asp

Just wondering about the facts and figures though.

With it been a 500w at 4ohms, does this mean each 250w at 8ohms will get exacly that; 250w each as when theyre both connected together its at 4ohms??

Am I thinking down the right lines with that one or on the wrong ones???!

    Help please!

    Thanks again.

    Rob

  13. Selling this on after getting it here on basschat not that long ago. due to time and finaicial restraints the project it was for is now on hold for the forseeable future so cant see the point hanging on to it.

Anyway its in good nick, couple of minor scratches however nothing really visible without close inspection, bar a minor ding on the headstock - this is still not really noticable and certainly does not affect playability.

Heres some photos i already had on the computer with the neck attached to a Squier VM jazz body. I can however send close ups/specifics on request.

Not looking to profit on this; £250 collected from Rotherham/£260 posted with insurance

    Thanks,

    Rob

  14. Selling on behalf of my brother.

Its like this http://www.gak.co.uk/en/cb-drums-beginners...it-silver/31527 in a deep red/wine colour.

Comes as the picture on the link but the crash cymbal has a crack in it so would need replacing (buts it is still useable for a beginner until a better one would be required)

    Please note stool not included.

Hes after £75 ono and obviously due to size collection is going to be best - he lives near Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

Il put some photos on here when he emails them through soon.

    Cheers,

    Rob

  15. Thanks everyone.

At the minute the ones weve got lined up are medium (possibly getting into large)pubs/clubs, id say 100-150 people?

Weve got a gig this Sunday and arranged to hire one just for this time as not in a direct position to purchase one until after the new year. its a medium sized pub, about 120 id say maximum on a busy sunday night. The system weve looked at is 700w with two speakers, and were planning on just running the vocals through it...so should this be ample for this one gig?

Ive took heed of the comments you lot have replied with and when we buy were going to be looking at 1000w upwards.

    Cheers again,

    Rob

  16.
Might know where this is!!,,

Only a year later but did this go any further?

    Cheers
