Hi all. Considering getting a 16+ as I've been using a boss wl-50 Previously but new band has another wl-50 user and along with new IEMs and singers wireless mics that all use 2.4ghz...only one of us gets a consistent pairing / no drop out.
Q1. What is glxd16+ like for an active bass
Q2. Our lead guitarist has a glxd16+ and never has issues. Anyone have experience of two band members using these together and without drop outs? Wanting to get the 16+ for the 5.8ghz dual band optimisation but don't want to compromise the lead guitarists signal. Thank you in advance.
Just to be clear.. the unit doesn't use 2.4 & 5.8 at the same time..
2.4 is default but if it's congested the GLX will swap to 5.8.
You can set 5.8 to be default if wanted.

Try the Double Bass Room in Battle,, I was there at weekend and people from all over were viewing. Seems a popular place.

Hi. It is the combo but the head detaches so I may use the head with two other cabs
I recognise those photos Bungo.
Yes, only one other cab can be added to the combo. Or 2 cabs when the head is detached.
Always use 8ohm cabs and your safe.

Sounds like your doing all the right things to reduce feedback risk.
Outdoor gigs usually mean a hollow stage, that can be a problem too, with vibration causing feedback issues.

Update.. yes there is! Took the plunge and found delay and reverb in the FX menu.
Tape echo is the one for me..

Thanks. I downloaded the app and realised not everything was available on the head version that you get on the combo's.
Shame..

Is there a Delay/Echo FX in the head?
-
Do it.. jam it behind the tailpiece with a bit of foam, that also helps stop it vibrating as a potential cause of feedback. Used a G75 for years, now upgraded to a Shure.

Whatever you decide make sure it has an HPF.

Duly noted wrt the Platinum pro. Are you politely saying the Jtone pick up is maybe a bit too cheap and I should consider something a bit more 'quality' for this critical first step.
Yes.

Buy the Platinum Pro. It does exactly what you need. The Jtone pickup is a cheap pickup, there are many options out there which will improve your sound.

Don't dismiss a 12" sub. I've seen Yamaha DXS subs go for less than £500. 900watts RMS.
More than you'll need for pub type stuff.

I'll have 2 please.
What diameter does the standard one take?

Interested but won't get up to Lanc before Christmas... Think I bought an ovation magnum from you a few years ago...

What strings are those?

Definitely not a Kay.. East European I would say, if it is a nitro finish I reckon 60s/early 70s.

Ok, thanks.. bit far for me.

Hi... Where abouts are you for collection?
-
I had one of the G string Indian guts as a spare. It was quite a bit lower in volume when amplified compared to the rest of the Lenzners on the bass.

Broad rule of thumb I was told many years ago. 5 watts per head indoors, 15 watts per head outdoors, as a minimum.
-
Sounds like the strings you are using are too low tension. They may be easy to play but the trade off is that they will be quieter, less defined and buzz occasionaly.
-
Totally recomend the Line 6 stuff.
The G30 never failed and G70, now discontinued, still has more features than any other unit out there.
Any digital wireless works fine with
Piezo or mag pickups.

The Revolution Solo pickup is made to be sanded to the correct thickness, but faces still need to be parallel.

The flatter the better. More surface contact gives a fuller sound.
Have you ever used tape nylon strings ?
in EUB and Double Bass

I had a set of black tapewound, Rotosound I think.. quite a dark sound to them. I would say they were medium tension.
