5. Fantastic, only used once quality USA built Lakland 5 string bass. Ash body with gorgeous Maple Top, Birds eye Maple fretboard, Lakland pickups & preamp and case. This is a really light bass that plays like a dream, the only reason I'm selling is that I have too many basses so not trades please. From their site: Lakland 5-string basses feature a B-string that is tight, well defined and feels like a natural extension of the instrument – accomplished by combining a 35" scale with the solid anchoring of the string through the body design. The necks on Lakland’s 55 series basses are slightly narrower than other 5-strings, making them as accessible as they are tonally sound. For full specification and reviews see http://www.lakland.com/55-94.htm This bass is real class and as such is priced at £2200.

 7. Black Lakland Skyline with maple board in fantastic condition. Some very light surface scratches on front but they are so light they do not show up in the photographs. For those who are unaware the 55-02 is equipped with Lakland's familiar MM/J pickup configuration and custom 3-band preamp used in the US-made 55-94. The controls on the 55-02 are the same as on the 55-01 and the master volume pot can be pulled to bypass the active preamp. The 55-02 has a 3-way toggle for coil splitting. The 35-inch scale necks make for killer low B's! That is why the low tones on Skyline 5-string basses boom with piano-like clarity! Looking for £850.00 REDUCED TO £700 Available for viewing - I'm in Bristol. Looking for sale only, no trades please.
 8.
Yep, Also if you ever see Rio Palisander thats Brazillian Rosewood.
So Brazilian Rosewood is lighter in colour than standard rosewood that you would normally get on say a P bass? If so is it harder or softer as that's gonna affect the sound quite a bit yeah?
 9.
Fingerboard of every bass that on English-speaking sites is advertised to be 'rosewood' is described on Polish sites as 'palisander' as it is a Polish word for 'rosewood'.
Many thanks!
 10. Hi all, I'm looking at buying a bass which is described as having a Palisander fingerboard!! Although in the picture it looks more maple in colour than rosewood, info on Google suggests that it is indeed a form of Rosewood. Has anyone any more info on this please? Ta J
