1.
Don't just use foam inserts.
I once fired two straight into a table at the front.

:)
:) lmao. i can belive it. when we play brick in the wall i am in drop d, the punch of air through the tunning ports is like a slap on the back. i loves it i do... :)

2. :) Right then i have been up and used my kit tonight for a practice. the combo is a trace elliot 7215. it has 2 jack connectors on the back that say min 4ohms. one is connected to the combo speaker. the other is connected to my 8ohm cab. the cab does say link is parallel.
so if i connect this to another 8ohm cab amp will go pop  or because it is going into a different socket to the combo speaker will it be sweet :) ? my bad and sorry but i am new to this and there is not a right lot of info on back of amp.

cheers.

again.
3.
Or a different extension cab that pushes more air - maybe a 4x10 or bigger. Loudness, as I'm sure will be pointed out isn't just about watts, it's about efficiency and air movement - a 4x10 extension cab will likely feel much louder than a 1x15 extension cab, for example. So unless you're playing enormous venues without a PA, think about this (it also gives you flexibility as to which setup to take with you).
Oh yeh, i got that one in hand, hopefully got a 4x10 cab on the way :) :)

4. I have an old Trace rig, Combo with 15" cab and i had exactly the same when we did a gig in august up in Studley, the stage was quite big, wooden floor and very pretty looking but my bass sounded sh*te no matter where i stood. I have a couple of spare cables and used the longest cable i had and walked out into the middle of the hall and it sounded awsome. just where i was stood was pump. have you tried with the preshape on, compression set quite low and playing with the eq like rodl2005 says.
If it sounds good to the crowd then sometimes you have to put up with a poop on stage sound.

5. Tried that one and it worked on the annoyed stakes untill he realised what was actually running then he laughed.
I have hopefully got a 410 inbound and was wondering if i could do a 1x15, 1x410 1x15combo stack all working to really fek him orf.

saying that i would have one hell of a reach to get my beer :)

6.
You're forgiven
Many thanks. but unlike a catholic priest you did not touch me which has left me feeling empty....... :)

7. Need more amps then :)

cheers.

i will have a look at the back of the amp just to make sure but i thought it said something about min 8ohms on the back of the amp. it has 2 outputs.
was just an idea to get taller than the guitarist  and annoy him.

8. It maight be a daft one but i was sat thinking about it and come the conclusion :)

I currently have a TE 715 combo and an extension cab. That bit i have worked out using the equation (combo+ext=louder).
on the back of my extenstion is an output that says link.
the question is can i run another extension cab from this and if so will the equation be (combo+ext+ext=tall+reallyloud)
or is something likely to go pop?

help.

as you can see. i like sh*te simple

9. :) Good day all. Thought i would just give a shout out to anyone on the Forum that lives within reasonable travelling distance to Kemble Airfield (nr Cirencester, Glos). We (Ogri Mcc) have our clubhouse their and during the year have various Party commitments where bands are neaded. To that end i am always on the lookout for bands to play to keep the parties varied. If you are in a band and would be willing to do gigs then give me a shout. We normally put on bands that do rock covers but we are open to suggestions, If you want to come down and play your own stuff thats fine  .
drop me a pm and we can have a chat about it.

Cheers.

Mark from Ogri Mcc = ogrimark
10.
The basic version of this is available in Guitar Guitar for £200. the only difference I can see is that it is a bolt on
the Tbird IV is also passive and has the 3 point bridge (as playjazz stated) i have one. i bought it a few years ago and really love it.

cheers for the brill review. as i just said i have had the basic IV for a few years and when i bought it the PRO was a fair bit more than £350 and out of my price range. Now they have come down in price, and after reading your review, i am def gonna keep my eye out for one. i really like the look of the natural ones but i think it will have to be Black. as black is the new Black.

:) cheeers.

11. Personally i have only been playing about 4 years, after 6 months of learning i got thrown on stage to play 7 or 8 songs at my mates wedding. Frikin Shaat myself. and the next few times i was exactly the same, crapped my pants that much it was not a fun thing.
then i started playing bass for the Glam Gitz which was a fun glam rock thing and started to get over the nerves and the 'what if i make a mistake' and feeling sick and going very funny colours if i did.

Now i play with Black Nasty, which is me and 2 of my best mates. we do rock covers which are songs that we like, thats important, if we like it then other folk will get the vibe.
We go from gig to gig looking for that 'BUZZ' that you get when everything is falling into place and the crackle from the crowd is spot on.
This last weekend we travelled from wiltshire on the Thursday night to Elmpt in Germany to do a gig at my mates bike clubs summer party on friday night and even though by time we went on friday night we had had shag all kip from the travelling we played a blinder and got the 'buzz'.
bad point for everyone else when the buzz decends is all three of us are on a high and won't shut up jibbering untill the alcohol overtakes the ability to stand and talk :)

if i have a bad night though the flip side is wanting a massive guillimot swooping down and freeing me from the hell.
12.
I'd be open to the idea but I've no idea how I'd package something so large for shipping! :)
i had a cab couriered down from scotland and it just had two layers of cardboard taped around it with holes for the handles cut out and it tipped up fine. wither that or some bubblewrap and cardboard. tis easy for me to say as i can 'borrow' the kit from work

13.
Sid was so awful that Steve re-recorded all the crap Sid had put down. Sid was just a poster boy, planted by Malcolm McLaren to make them look the part.
I thought they were all poster boy's recruited by McLaren to look the part in the new 'Punk' band....

14.
you don't want to rely on TAB too much anyway, i only ever use it as a sort of guideline, i see roughly where they're playing what, then i work it all out by ear.
Snap. on some track i listen to the bass is sometimes a bit hard to hear/muffled by other stuff so they tend to be good for a 'guide'. i use guitar pro for the same thing. sometimes it helps if i am having trouble with timing.

15. :) I love em personally. When my old man died i had only been playing bass for just over a year and i decided that the £600 that i got from him would be best spent on a trace combo and an epi tbird. i thought about the tbird goth but didn't like the fact it didn't have the bird on it. I have moved the straplock to behind the neck and it sorted out the neck dive problem and i think it made it more balanced as i get less backache with it during a gig now.
I love the tone of it through my trace rig. If i could afford one i would try the gibson, but due to my inability to not buy shiney things i don't think i will ever see one. Although when i finish in the Army in 2 years and get a nice payout i may be tempted then. I am tempted to find out the difference between the thunderbird IV and the thunderbird pro. I am still a novice when it comes to playing (only been doin it 4 1/2 years now) and i have never played an active bass.
I played my mates P bass and was not overly impressed with it, after all the hype i was expecting more.

you can def stick me on the 'love em' side of the list.
