1. - sealed 8x6.5" cabinet

    - small 2.5" horn

    - 4ohms 400W

    - The only real "feature" on it is two different input jacks, one with a horn and one without.

    - The cabinet is also a good bit smaller and lighter than a regular SVT
cab, size-wise it's about 3/4 size (about 37" high, by 21" wide, by 16" deep) and about half the weight (85 pounds vs. 165 pounds).

If you do want more info there is this great review on Harmony Central that goes into a lot more detail about this stuff; here's the link:

  2. Good condition cab, it was my first cab and I got it at a place called Wunjo Guitars in Denmark street its never needed any work on it or anything tweeked and has been gigged well, you have a choice of using it with or without the horn can take about 400 watts, it has a handle on the top and a set of wheels on the bottom that makes it easier to maneuver to and from gigs. Looking for £250 but am open to offers. I live near Portsmouth and Brighton and may consider P&P but would prefer local pick up. Feel free to get in contact.

  3. I bought my first cab from Wunjo guitars, a great shop! D'you know what they gave me to try out the cab? A 1975 Jazz bass, I think there motto or catchphrase was "try anything we're not precious" I also remember trying out a MM in the bass centre ages when I was a beginner and they were cool, the shop across the street from bass cellar called vintage and rare guitars and I would have thought they'd be quite precious what with a £5000 bass or whatever on the wall but they're cool too. I think you just have to ignore the dicks out there and just get on with it, its what you get when guitarists run bass stores :)
I've had a similar experience at the Bass Cellar, the people were a bit touchy about trying out the basses and were constantly keeping an eye on me. It's a shame the customer care was so poor because their stoock was actually very good.

However on the same day I visited about 20 other music shops in London (...I know) and generally people were really nice. In one shop, I think it was Wunjo Guitars, as soon as I looked at an old 60s jazz bass, the guy asked me if I wanted to try it out and what I wanted to plug it into. I ended up playing that bass for about 20 minutes and then I moved onto playing a old ric (they didn't stock EBMM). The weird thing is, a few minutes later a guy came in and bought both basses while I was still playing them. Each bass was priced around £2000 so can't have been short of cash to buy £4000 worth of basses without even trying them. Anyway i'd recommend Wunjo Guitars.

As far as I can recall, Bass Centre was pretty cool too, happy for you to try out anything at your leisure. There was a couple of other shops with really good service but I can't remember the names. Sadly the Bass Cellar was probably one least friendly shops I visited that day.
4. Hello,

I have been playing double bass for about a month now and have been practicing on the one at my college so far, standards and original jazz compositions I've got to get my own though and I was wandering if anyone on this wonderful thing as the internet knows where I could get a good beginners double bass, I don't have huge amounts of money to spend I'm looking between £250 - £350. This is practically nothing in DB terms i know but its all i got.

Also I'm checking out bassists like Christopher White, Ray Brown, Dave Holland, Mingus, Gary Peacock, Eugine Wright if you guys knew of any other great bassists to check out any cool solos for me to transcribe i'd love suggestions.

    Thank you!! :)
