I like the HB fretless but has anyone tried one of these http://www.rino88.net/index.php?act=viewPr...mp;productId=40 thinking of getting one.

I saw a 5 string Rockbass Vampyre go this morning for £127, not everyone's cuppa and it may reappear if it was being shilled. Nearly pulled the trigger as it was only up the road, but held back.

yea, starting at 99p hmmmm.

It would have to be my Dolphin, love it.
-
Very tempted by this but have a few others to check out first.

Yes, but I can't remember what I did. It was last night whilst having a jam/practice, Mike (the drummer) whent off on some obscure double beat thing and I followed. He said we sounded like Little Feat.

I had a 10 year break while my lad was growing up. I bought a book of bass scales and got into a local band. Several bands later and I'm still learning.
-
I saw that bass, not too far from mr. I think the wiff would do her nut if I turned up with another bass.

I have Ernie Ball flats on my Dolphin, they sound great. I'll probably try some other brands, I had the EB's kicking around in my gig bag so put them on. I didn't go as far as Roto Tru-bass, I just didn't think they would work.

I have noticed a few 2nd hand amps advertised on ebay for more than the price of a newer model. It's ok saying "I paid X pounds for this 4 years ago" but do you really think its worth that now?
-
Where would the amp need picking up from?
-
I really want to try the LH500, it looks a good package for the price. When you look at 2nd hand 300-500watt amps that are priced around the £250 mark it looks quite tempting.

Lynott, Gorham and Robertson worked well, especially on Live and Dangerous.

The speakers are Fane and label on the magnet says "extra high power, super efficient" they are 8ohms and have the numbers 42/79 & 15381 printed on the chassis of the speaker. I have e-mailed Fane with all the above info and am waiting to hear back.
-
How do you find out what power rating of a speaker is? I know it is printed on most units, but what if it isn't?
-
bump again.

I'm sure people do that on purpose, I know I would.

I had given up looking for cabs and was going to build my own, I left them a few days to see if anyone else went for them.
-
I got em, thanks for the heads up PB.
I would have paid £30 for the cabs alone, the speaker untis dont have a power rating on them so I have contacted Fane to see if they can give me any info.
I have put the bass through them and they sound good, no farty sounds. -
