I seriously doubt an Ampeg 810 could compete with the full-and-fruity-frequency-range abilities of two Barefaced cabs.
And as you're a tall chap, if you're sticking with the one cab, why not pop it on one of these? (Draped in black material - as recently recommended by a wise Basschatter, whose name escapes me right now).

Why not just carry a decent bass DI, so if any or all of your amps go down, you can go through the PA? Not ideal for onstage sound purposes, but a quick fix - and cheaper and lighter than lugging extra amps around.

Ampeg SVT-810AV or Barefaced 69'er?

Is Barefaced's ability to spread sound quite evenly across a stage a problem? In which case, standard cabs pushing sound just straight ahead would be a positive? I'm talking about gigs with PAs here.
