I've just finished editing my video review of the new Bergantino Super Pre. It will do everything you ask and more without the additional bells and whistles of a fully featured processor (that you might not need). It is DSP, but it's a top tier processor on board so it sounds superb even "flat" with zero tone suck.

Compression (series and parallel) 4 band parametric equaliser (not just mids) high pass and low pass filters, OD, Distortion or Fuzz (bendable and adjustable crossover), feedback filter, tuner, dual DI's headphone for IEMS or practicing, effects loop, Bergantino proprietary 'Speaker Profiles' and all completely programmable.

Where can one see this mentioned amazing sounding video? :)

  2. looking at Bergantino amps for the first time. I am looking at rig that can cover doing small gigs and home rehearsals/practise. do I go super pre or do I push for the bi-amp or forte hp ( and keep saving to get just a 1x 12 or 2x10 Bergantino cab in time)? can I run this head out to DI into PA like a pedal? And practise at home without a cab plugged in?

  3. Three years ago I stupidly traded in a Warwick '98 BO Thumb for a MIM jazz bass.

I was skint at the time and just wanted a change and hadn't played for years...

I realised I have not only lost the bass, but I pretty much have also lost all the capital I had invested in it..

I swapped a bass which was at £700 for a straight swap... saw it online at the shop for £1250 the week after..

If I know try and sell the jazz bass now I'll be lucky to get £350-400 for it... so my take home is only trade up, never trade down!

  4. An old thread to revive but I am having a love affair with the tone from Michael Visceglia on the album “days of open hand”. Does anyone know what effects or basses he is used back then? I know he plays a lakland Bob glaub j bass nowadays. I just love the tone of his 5 string work and of his fretless. Is it octave with compression? Just resonates in that tone cavity in my chest.. I have a nice jazz fretless so just wondering how he gets that ‘chewy’/ burp sound.. I know he loves j style basses so could just have been a j style 5 and j style fretless.. just wondering what others thought?

    Likewise. Probably the same shop.

Everybody's fave Bass shop on here tried to stiff me while my £1500 bass was on commission sale. The thing disapeared, and to this day it has never reappeared. Of course the owner knew what happened. I just got told a huge pack of lies, and where the story changed in the middle of the debacle. More lies.

After 3 months of back and forth  BS, i did the threat.  I was paid within a few days.

I've never known such an outright lying scumbag.  I wouldn't buy an E string off them, and havent bought a single item off them since

Can I get a clue as to the shop or DM me? I have some shocking experiences in a couple of shops in the last year..

Perhaps Fender have been their own worst enemy. There Japanese and Mexican products have been so good there is no need to buy USA made.

Would people therefore recommend getting a 57 (maple) and 62( rosewood) precision bass Japanese vs one USA singular? I have a USA rosewood 2009 but wanted to invest in a maple neck.. thinking should I pick up a pair of  80-90’s Japanese precisions instead?
