whilst eschewing (geddit?) the jokes, i recently acquired a marlin sidewinder for £15, its a hunk of wood, the neck was out of line, the frets had been removed in a diy stylee, but its great for playing with a violin bow or a drumstick, detuned an octave and put through a sustain pedal

[quote name='benwhiteuk' post='478836' date='May 4 2009, 11:10 AM']In all honesty, I don’t genuinely know I could throw in some clichés about the tube giving the sound “warmth” and a “vintage tone”, but I’d just be making it up.

hello to everyone, started learning bass about 2 months ago late in my life, after several stop start attempts. I love it, enjoying every minute.
i currently have 3 guitars:
stagg 4-stringer
marlin sidewinder
maison active 4 -stringer
effects pedals:
zoom b1
behringer bass bdi 21
various other bits of kit as i attempt to build my own home studio.
