I'm not sure if this is the right category, but I have a friend who is looking to sell a 1991 Warwick Thumb thru-neck, bubinga/wenge. Serial number is G303391. It's in very good condition for its age. He's a bit of a technophobe, so he hasn't any photos at present.

I was just looking for a rough idea of what this might be worth. Any idea?

Certainly have.

I always say that, yes, you can get by and play in a band with root notes, but technically there's a massive amount more than guitar out there, especially technique-wise.

I've been working in music shops for a long time, and the phrase I've heard the most is: "I'm thinking of taking up bass because I've heard it's easier than guitar."

This might be technically correct initially.

Any thoughts?

We have been wondering whether to cover this track but our singer keeps saying the key is too high for him to sing. I've listened to the bass part and thought thank God for that, as it's amazingly complicated.

Has anyone ever tried this?

Nobody believes that the song is king more than me. I hate overplaying. However, in my opinion, Flea comes up with parts that are busy yet complement the song beautifully. I have rarely heard a player do this as well, even over players like Jack Bruce and Geddy Lee in a three-piece setting.

He"s very inventive and totally original. Just a really great player.

I've just been watching a Chili's live concert and think that Flea is an amazing player. The way he grooves and fills out the sound for a three-piece is astonishing.

Why do people knock him?

Well I watched issue 3 and was impressed, especially as it's free. My only complaint is having paid eleven quid initially and not having access to the extra features.

I've watched/read issue 3 of iBass mag and have to say it's great. Couldn't access the extra stuff, even though I paid the eleven quid original fee.

I always liked their first album and thought the band was really cool. However, the latest album is probably the worst I've ever heard. They've turned into an auto-tuned pile of cheesy pop pap.

Terrible.

I think when you listen to Verdine White's part, it takes you by surprise. Who would have thought of that bassline?

Is in the chorus of this song, in my opinion.
