1.
Did you pick this bass up off Ebay a couple of years ago? I have the pics somewhere...
Yeh, had some horrid black hardware (bridge) which I swapped out for some original Fender parts.

Also worth noting that the E tuner is not original Fender, it's identical but has Schaller on the back.

  2. Re: Joe & others by PM. I'm not sure what i'm after price-wise. I wanted to see what the offers would be to give me an idea.

Hi Kev! You reminded me about those clips actually! I'm just digging them out off of an external drive and i'll upload them to youtube and post them :)

  3. 2nd bass for sale following the Overwater to fund a Sadowsky is this rare CBS Fender bass.

As talked about in the Fender Bass book (page 79). A transitional Fender Jazz, '78 neck - dot and bound fingerboard, three bolt neck joint and headstock adjust. 1978 decal and serial number on headstock 'S 8' - body most likely early 80's.

The book confirms that builders CBS used parts to deplete all inventories in the factories. A rare build!

When I brought the bass it had active EMG's. I've swapped them out for all passive Nordstrand NJ4SV's (very tasty pickups!).

Condition is generally very good. Has knocks on the body, but nothing too bad. The top neck area has some marks on three of the frets. Appears to be in the lacquer, does not affect play, and doesn't feel bad (see pics).

    Comes with moulded hard case.

    £700. Not inc. postage.

  4.
1 piece maple neck, rosewood board and most probably a Tulipwood body as it's a solid finish with Vintage body shape. Hipshot style B bridge and 1/2 inch Ultralite M/Heads It's also probably pre 2003/4 but can't be accurate from the photographs.

Wow, you know more about it than i do! LOL

    Thanks for the info.

  5. Set of Active EMG jazz pickups taken out of my Fender when I bought it. Been sat in a box since.

Not sure about models etc. One has a sticker with LJ5 and the other SJ5.

Screws also included. I don't have any of the wiring and am not supplying pots.

Hit me up via PM with an offer as I have no idea what they are worth, i'll just go with what feels right.

Hello, this is the first of some reluctant sales from me - but I have some major GAS for a nice Sadowsky and it has to be funded through sales!

This is an Overwater J Series 5 String. I don't know all details, but i'll try my best with what I do know. There is some info on the Overwater websute: http://www.overwaterbasses.com/j-series.htm

It is loaded with an active J-Retro and hand-wound Kent Armstrong pickups. It is vintage white in colour with a Tortoise shell pickguard, along with matching headstock. Also has a classic pickup cover which you can see fitted in the last couple of pictures.

It does have some dings in the finish, maybe 3 or 4 around the edge of the body. It will come with the hard case photographed with the bass.

I believe they sell new for around £1900. I'd like to be looking at £1000 or around that kind of area.

It plays like a dream, by far the best 5 string I have played.

Hit me up through PM if you are interested.
