1. Sold Zsolt my MIJ Precision.

An absolute gent to deal with, in spite of the vagaries of international bank transfers and shipping.
Also reads and writes better English than many English folk.
Recommended.

2. DBX 160A Compressor

Price: £175

Not much to say about this - it's in great condition and hasn't had a great deal of use - maybe a hundred hours in total.

Only selling as I've way too much gear (including several compressors) and I'm not playing in any bands currently.

Happy to provide further info/photos as required.
I have long-standing good feedback here.

Collection from Barnstaple with cash or will transport by insured courier at cost (on receipt cleared funds to bank).

3. SGC Nanyo SB315 (with tatty hard case) * NOW SOLD *

Price: £170

Great condition SGC Bass Collection 5 string - one very small ding on the rear (no way I could photograph it) and the scrape in the lacquer (highlighted) behind the B string at the bridge.

The photos don't really do it justice. Colour is a deeper red than the photos indicate - closer to Cherry Red. The neck is flawless. It's active, and everything works perfectly. The only modification is Fender-standard Schaller straplocks are fitted - bass will come with a red Levy's strap with the relevant fittings.

It's an excellent instrument in every way, but it's not getting any attention since I moved to Devon, and I need the space. Weight is around 8 lbs (very comfy) - the tatty old Stagg case it will be shipped in weighs about half as much again!

Never been gigged (only because it wasn't the right look for a Blues band ...)

No trades please - I'm trying to slim-down.

4. ** NOWSOLD **

1989 MIJ Fender Precision '57 Tobacco Burst with hard case
Price: £480

Lovely condition - a couple of small dings in the lacquer (only) on the top 'waist' and on the back lower horn. Generally it is extremely good for it's age, and from three feet away could almost be mistaken for new.

It's a US pickup model with (unusually for Japanese reissues) vintage-correct long-stem tuners.
I've swapped the bridge (Hipshot), and the pickguard (3-ply US parchment), but the original vintage (grooved) bridge and single ply white guard will be included, along with a slightly-battered but functional Fender hard case.
Fender-standard Schaller straplocks are fitted - the bass will come with a Levy's strap with relevant fittings.

It weighs a comfortable 9 lbs, and is currently wearing heavy Elites (50-110) tuned to Eb. It's easily the best-playing 4-string I've ever owned. Plenty of punch, but brighter than many.
It's been gigged a few times, but always treated like the Crown jewels!

Everything works perfectly. Only selling as I have a lot of gear but I'm not playing in any bands since moving to Devon - and I need to de-clutter.

Collection from Barnstaple with cash or will transport by insured courier at cost (InterParcel looks to be about £28) on receipt cleared funds to bank.

5. Bought a nice condition mexican Fender jazz V, at a very reasonable price
I suspect it'll be with me for some time...

Courteous, detailed and prompt communications, well packed - couldn't ask for more

A pleasure to deal with

Cheers Alex

6. Just bought a Lexicon effects unit from Chris

A joy to deal with, equipment exactly as described - down the minor scratches in the paintwork :)
- well packed and arrived less than 24 hours after payment

Recommended - thanks Chris

7.
Unless they are strung with flats/rounds....is there an advantage to owning two P-basses?

Do the tones in the range vary that much?
I've got three fretted 'P-types', and wouldn't be happy with fewer:

One has standard Fender P/Up and Elite Stainless - very bright - think JJ Burnell
One has Kent Armstrong Hot Vintage and Tru-Bass (Monster rubbery nylon-tapewound) - super thumpy / dark
Last has DiMarzio and Thomastik tapewound - very flexible / responsive to play - wide range of tones with small changes in plucking position

(Actually, with these 3 sets of strings you'd need three of *any type* of bass, I reckon)

The only problem with the Tru-Bass strings is that (for me, anyway) after a couple of hours playing, it actually removes your callouses, and it takes a few days of steels to get them back..

8. Small Clone is a pretty nice chorus for bass, I reckon

Allegedly, the nano version sounds identical - if so, it's a more friendly shape and size...
