3. Hi all I wonder if this has happened to anyone.. I was quite happily playing my G&L tribute L2000 through a Tecamp combo when I accidentally nudged the lead which then gave way to a loud pop sound which then gave way to a radio station playing through my amp!!! I stay in a ground floor flat. Is this normal? The pop nearly blew the speaker Any help will be great Deaky

    Confused
Is this a combo? Usually amps have a minimum impedance, typically 4 ohms, and you're ok using it with any combination of speakers as long as the total impedance is above the stated minimum. If it's a combo, maybe it's supplied with a choice of speaker impedances because it doesn't have the option of an extension speaker?
Sorry I shouldve been clearer = its a cab thats advertised...

    Confused

Hi all, If an amp is advertised as having a 4 ohm or 8 ohm version what does that mean? Thanks in advance Deak

  9. Hi Warwick Thanks for the info. Apologies for asking advice again - it just didnt seem to sink in the first time Thanks for clearing it up
  10. Hi all Can anyone tell me if I can connect a tecamp XS110 1x10 bass cab to a Tecamp combo 112. Its has a speaker out at the back of the combo so does that mean I can connect the two together and use as a complete unit. Iam also a bit confused regarding ohms!! The manual says you are free to use either speaker output if you want to connect more than one speaker cabinet. Just make sure that the minimum load of each power amp is no less than 4 ohms. Thus you can connect two 8 ohms speakers or one 4 ohms speaker. And finally Do I have the option of connecting a Phil Jones Suitcas extension cab to the combo. Would this work or would it sound rubbish... I hope that all makes sense. Many thanks in advance
  11. So could you attach a Phil Jones Suitcase Extension Cab to it then!
  12. Hi all, Is it a possibility to connect a bass cabinet to a Tecamp 112 combo and does it need to be a tecamp cabinet?? Thanks Deaky
  13.
Yeah... that's the ones! Alas, Stringbusters only seem to have the really obscure scale lengths in stock at the moment...
So in absence of the La Bella what strings would you go for?
  14.
This is where the fun begins, I'm afraid. At the moment, the UK is largely a La Bella flat-free zone. I emailed them, and they told me to contact the Bass Gallery... dunno what they have in stock, though.
Aah joy!! Is it the Deep Talkin strings that Im looking for? Stringbusters have them in stock but im kinda confused about which scale to choose!
  15.
TI's with a bit more tension..? Try the lighter-gauge La Bella flats.
Heard good reports about the La Bella strings. Any idea where I can get a set?
  16. Hi all, Got a bit of a dilemma here Iam having my MIA Fender Deluxe Precision set up and I am wondering whether or not to stick a new set of strings on it. I currently have TI flats which are fab but a bit I find them slightly "loose". I like the look of the Rotosound Jazz 77 strings I play in a christian group so looking for a nice smooth silky sound. Appreciate any thoughts Deaky

Hi Guys When travelling to gigs I need to keeo my combo in the boot of my car. Is there any possibility of damaging the amp going over bumps etc?? Sorry if its a daft question Cheers Stuart

    Tecamp

Hi all Does anyone have anything to say on the Puma cabs. Im looking for an amp to do small to medium gigs that are quite reliable. I checked the Tecamp website and it says that its output is 270 watts then 350 watts at 4 ohms - whats that mean Cheers Deaky
  22. Hi all, Looking to sell my EBS Microbass II. Bought it recently and not used it much so have decided to sell it on. Its in perfection condition. Comes with all the original packaging. Only played it in my music room so its mint. This is what the website says about it... This is the ultimate bass tool. Period! The MicroBassII can be used as an active direct box, a one or two channel preamp, instrument switcher or blender. Two Channels and A Useful Loop The two channels provide sound shaping from high end solid-state types to distorted timbres, using the awarded tube emulation circuitry found in the EBS range of professional bass heads. An incorporated effects loop gives the user added flexibility for connecting to other effect pedals, or for mixing in an external audio source such as a CD player for rehearsal purposes. Unmatched Flexibility The balanced output with speaker simulator option provides unmatched flexibility in live and studio situations. Footswitches control mute and channel operation/switching. Other features include headphone output, low battery indicator, link and master outputs, bass, ‘sweepable’ midrange, treble, bright and edge filters, drive and effects mix controls. The EBS MicroBassII delivers that big, burning EBS sound wherever you go. Looking for £200 for it. Collection preferred. Based in Central Scotland. Cheers Deaky
