1.
ade, im waiting on vintage and rare getting back to me on a usa vintage precision they have, but yours is a huge distraction!
May well be in touch. Soon.
I too was looking for a vintage P bass, and had one on hold until I tried a 50th anniversary model. I now own the 50th anniversary as it played and sounded so much better.
Just my opinion of course Andy, wouldn't want to try and influence you or anything! :)

2. Just completed a seamless deal with Tom, what a top geezer.
Really nice to be able to do business on trust, and have a good natter as well!
Plus, I've a great blue flower bass to busk with now.
You will be comfortable dealing with this man!

Cheers,

Neil

3.
well it arrived safely tis afternoon, and i have to say i'm pleasantly impressed! There are a couple of very minor scuffs to the bass of the tolex covering, but plugged a bass in and it sounds great! not the loudest amp in the world but it should be well loud enough for a rehersal in the house!! The first time ive bought something without seeing any pics of it but very pleased with the outcome!! and for £175 too!!! :)
Bargain!
I use mine for practice round the house or whenever the drummer cant make it to rehearsal, very happy with the sound. Also it can be battery powered for when we go busking, I use a dry cell motorbike battery externally as you get longer use than putting a small unit in the battery compartment.
We did a beer festival last year ,and one of the other band's bassist used his on stage through the pa, a bit muddy but ok for such a small amp.

If this is not so heavy it's a must have... all fretless Pedulas i tried were real nice sounding...
Good luck for the sale
I have to agree with k-sad, my Rapture fretless is outstanding, and its the budget (relatively) model in the range!
Good luck with the sale Gary, shame it has to go, someone will be very happy with this.

5. Hi gary mac,

I too had vintage Fender gas a couple of years back, and after getting thoroughly confused by what was original, what decreased the resale value( wanted a player, but one with some value I could leave to the kids!) etc etc, and the minefield of both decent and unscrupulous dealers, I finally arrived at a nice '77 P bass in natural with a maple board. Played lovely, was a really good wieght, light for late 70's, and I thought, yes, this is the one. This process had taken about 8 months.

Anyway, I went to pick it up from the dealer and he also had an early 2000's and a 50th anniversary P, both immaculate, and both about half the price of the '77. I thought I ought to try them just to make a comparison, and they were both far superior in every possible way to any of the vintage basses I had tried.

So I now have a fantastic 50th anniversary P bass which is an absolute joy to play and has that classic sound that I was after. Yeah its a 'limited edition' but then half the stuff Fender put out is an anniversary of one sort or another, so I'm under no illusions on that front.

Whats the point of this rambling post, well I suppose I'm trying to say that, imho, if you're buying to use, gig etc, dont be blinkered by 'vintage', there are some great modern Fenders out there that you won't have to remortgage to afford.

By the way, I hope your luck changes, sounds like you're having a bad run at the mo.

6. Just taken delivery of my new Pedulla rapture j2 fretless, awsome, will be gigging it this weekend cos I bought it to play it, not hang it on the wall and look at it. Never spent this much on an instrument before but I knew i'd get exactly what I wanted, and just as I thought, it delivers. I'm hoping this will see me through till I can no longer carry on playing, but you never know when the next attack of gas might creep up on you!

7. I've had a fretless one of these from new and it's still gigged regularly, a bit beaten up and roadworn now, but sounds and plays fantastic. I was also lucky enough to pick up a fretted one from Mansons shop a couple of years ago, which apears to have had hardly any use, and the sound can best be described as HUGE!
Hugh Manson builds really good guitars and you'd be looking at about 3K+ for a new one. For anyone who wants a quality British luthier bass I rekon this is worth a look.
