Picked this up recently but already need to move it on to fund gear for a new project. Last in, first out policy inplay here! I think it's as good a guitar you'll find for the money, and looks the part too. It's a Korean 2013 model, in slate grey. Recent strings, nice action. There's a small crack in the lacquer below the stacked pot, only visible on close inspection. A little buckle rash, and a tiny mark on headstock which may buff out. Truss rod cover is missing... I think the highway one, and some of these American Specials, Mexican player series have "Modern C" profile necks, so that's what I've been looking at to buy. Welcome to my listing for a rather beautiful BC Mockingbird Bass, which I think I bought on this very forum back in 2015. From what I can gather, it's a Korean (possibly Japanese) NJ Series from 1991. In excellent original condition, with no modifications. The only blemish is a small area of scratched finish on the back of the body (see last pic). It weighs a fair bit, and sounds fantastic thanks to the stock dual p-bass pick up configuration. The diamond inlays, high mass bridge, "R" branded tuners and brass nut really set it off. It's a really well made guitar, which I had planned to keep forever, however as mentioned in another listing, a wrist injury prevents me from playing this comfortably. The neck is a perfect profile, but where the guitar sits on a strap means the first fret feels about a mile away from my body. No case, so collection only I'm afraid. I can travel a distance to meet up if you're coming far. Just drop me a message. Pretty hard to price these at the moment. I haven't seen a model like this come up for sale for... well, ever. So I don't feel I'm asking daft money, but feel free to tell me otherwise Will also consider PX w/cash either way for quality medium scale bass, or a 2003 Fender Highway One P-Bass. Now asking £900 £850 collected. Welcome to the reluctant sale of this fantastic versatile instrument, which I have owned since 2014. Presented in good used condition, there are a few marks to the paint and headstock, but nothing that detracts from the overall appearance. The scratch plate is not original, but I think most will agree it looks cool. I do have the original pearloid item somewhere (I think in my parent's garage), and will happily forward on to the new custodian once located. Comes with original branded hard case, which is a little battered but still works well. In terms of playability, the bass is sublime, and has one of the best necks I've come across. Good action, and the active EQ works as it should. So why am I selling? Well, I'm finally going to be gigging again soon, and since sustaining an injury to my wrist a couple of years back, I'm really limited in what basses I can play comfortably whilst standing up. Unfortunately, this doesn't fit the bill anymore. I'd prefer a cash sale, but would consider a trade for a Highway One P-Bass in a colour other than candy-apple red. I wouldn't say this is a super rare instrument, but probably fairly scarce in this colour combo, and looking at what's sold in the past... I'd say the price is about right. Any trial/examination welcome at my house in Fetcham, Leatherhead. I now have an amp in the house again, which you're welcome to use. I do travel along the M4 corridor as far as West Wales quite frequently, so can work something out if you're far away. Thanks for looking. Some Specs below...
