1. I bought a new strap, a nice leather one, I quite like it, but there's a problem - it's too short!!...it's actually the standard size for leather straps but I play lower than that so...is there any kind of extension I can get without having to sell this one and buy another strap (size XXL preferably!)?

Is there a place where I can get an extension like the one used on leather straps (the smaller ajustable bit) but longer? I need something like this:

    http://shop.buysda.com/product.sc?category...p;productId=169

Where can I get it in the UK?

    Any help welcomed!

  2. I've bought an A4 mirror chrome adhesive sheet to cover a jazz bass pickguard. It's just an experience. Do you reckon it will work? Has anyone ever done this before? Tips? (I'm particularly worried about how I'm gonna trim the edges...)

I've posted this thread on the repairs section but I think it's not in the right place (site admin please feel free to delete the other thread)

  3. For sale is a brand new GK 4 Conductor Speakon Cable. A GK cab I bought a couple of months ago had a problem with the speaker straight out of the box and went back to the shop, I eneded up getting a refund and buying another cab, however I kept the cable. I'm not using GK cabs at the moment, hence the sale.

The 4-Conductor Speakon Cable is compatible with the FUSION550, 700RB, 1001RB, 2001RB, RBH, RBX, SBX, and Neo Series cabinets. This cable is designed to be used seamlessly with GK's horn bi-amp system.

£20 (can post but collection within London preferred)

Drop me a line if you're interested

    Thanks for looking

Once you've dug past all the copies of Rhythmn and various g****r magazines, they're usually in there somewhere.
sweet, I work close to victoria :)

  5.
+1 for Hercules. Just bought one of them grabby things (GS414B IIRC?) from Mark at Bass Direct. Excellent piece of kit.

And while I'm at it, a big +1 for Mark. Top bloke!

    :)
I got mine yesterday!! the same model...went with a better piece of gear after all  ...and I'm glad I did, these hercules are top notch!

+1 one of the best IMO check out Megadeth's 'My Last Words'

  7. so basically, after contacting the eBay sellers...the one they have in gold (the one nick uses) and seems solid, they don't have in stock and won't have, the second one, the guy sent me more pics...it's actually not solid in the end bit where you fit the strings...I think I'll have to go with a Gotoh after all

  8.
Ends on mine are solid (one of which I bought off this seller), but as you say photo is a bit crappy.
I would ask the seller TBH, just to be sure.
Cheers, just done that :)

This one goes for everyone...Is there any alternatives for a J-bass bridge replacement other than the Gotoh 201 and BAII??

  9.
*Here we go chrome version here :)

Cool, cheers mate  This one goes up to £16.00 though...more expensive than the other seller. Is the back of the bridge solid, like a block or not? the pic is not great

  10.
you would have to position the bridge correctly and drill new holes.

Not a major problem in itself, but you'd have to be comfortable with that.

Can't really get an idea of the quality from that one photo, though.
Not my case...it would be a disaster trust me...lol

nick, the one you've posted seems similar but with the holes in the 'right' spot. Does it fit perfectly in Fenders like the Gotoh and BAII?...shame the colour, for the price I would give it a go :)

  11. Not sure if this should go to the eBay section, but it's not really an auction, they've got a shop but i didn't find this bridge on their website. Anyway, what do you think? It looks rugged, like an unbranded Gotoh or something...I'm looking for a bidge for my MIM Jazz but it looks like this one requires some DIY - not my thing AT ALL lol...

  12.
I wouldn't use "cheap" on my bass! I use a Genesis GS-100 stand.

    http://www.ultimatesupport.com/s.nl/it.A/id.825/.f
well..if I had your basses I would go with the best I could afford  but not being the case, i just want something cheap to hold my MIM jazz during rehearsals when I go for a cigarette break :)
