1. I had the v1005, loved it. but one of the pots broke so i took it back, and the fit of the neck pocket was disgustingly bad but other than that it was gr8
2. Thats a great price, you will sell that nee botha!
3. That price was awesome! anyways i decided against buying this bass, probably for the best....... like i say, i want my first warwick to be a proper thing, not a bsa (bits, scraps and allsorts) lol
4. sounds to me like you were hoping the neck would break

Ibanez
You can get a lot for £600. And as people have said, Ibanez and Yamaha will offer you a lot both in quality and reliability for that money. Unless it's the slim necks that attract you to Japanese marques, I'd be tempted to look at the G&L Tribute Series for that money. Rock solid construction and massive variety of tones - you'll get P'bass, Jazz and StingRay sounds, plus a few more.
+1
6. dunno why the j pup has been turned upside down, the bass is £350, ive asked the seller for some detailed photos as im not sure if i still want it because it was advertised as a proline not a modded standard, anyways the guy is being a bit arsey so its probably best i just pull out of the deal cos if i travel the 5hr journey to pick it up and it turns out to be a pile of crap i will end up with a sore knuckle for sure
7. *update* looks like its a lemon, from what ive gathered from people who ive shown the pics to it seems like its a standard corvette thats been re routed to take a humbucker pup.... anyways heres a pic, you can see the routing if you look closely: http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj62/stubarura/7248_3.jpg
8. anybody heard of one? it has the single coil neck pup like a passive corvette but also has a humbucker at the bridge.... its passive/active and i was just wondering if anyone had any experience with one of these basses...... it has a bubinga body, are these expensive/cheap to buy new in comparison to the regular models? cheers
9. first bass i had was a westfield p copy, i had played the electric guitar for maybe 18 months and just out of curiosity i borrowed this bass off a mate.... ended up swiching to playing bass almost straight away and kept the westy
10. just an update, i took the bass back to the shop today and the fella was spot on... offered me a repair or my money back, since i had lost faith in the bass i decided to take the money, but then i saw a G&L Tribute sb-2 hanging at the other side of the store... was £449 reduced to £349, then cos i had the inconveinience of having to bring the other bass back to the shop the guy knocked another £20 off.... im very happy with it, and i gotta reccomend it to anyone wanting a fender p style bass...... its just awesome, it has the best neck ive ever played and the finish is second to none, it really is breathtaking, on the strength of this bass from what ive seen of it so far i can deffo say im finished with fender basses, its leagues ahead in quality and sound to any fender i have ever owned, and ive had a few of all types....
11. ha! im trying to avoid going all ninja with the guy cos you know what its like when u r p!ss3d off and you start loosing an argument cos youve not done your research, big overhand rights aplenty anyway cheers for the replies lads
12. i hope this is the right section, apologies if its not I just bought a new vintage 5 string bass today for £229, not much money i know but i was hoping to get more than a few hours play out of it before it bust! basically the pot that adjusts the balance for the pickups has broke, it just kinda got stuck while i was adjusting it and its knocking the volume off everytime i touch it sooooooo i was wondering what my rights are? i know on electrical stuff you get 28 days store guarantee, is it the same for guitars? i bought it from a small local store....
13. for me it would be a no-brainer, mex all the way, in my experience with fenders is the mex are as good a quality build as the usa basses, infact they are made from the same woods, only on some models the hardware is cheaper but on others its exactly the same gear, the squiers ive come accross looked, played and sounded cheap... if a mex is set up properly there is no better fender, including the usa builds...
14. thats cos the problem only happened a few days ago and the closest tech i can find lives 30 miles away from me
15. hey guys, i was sent to this fine forum by one of your members in the hope that someone may be able to shed some light on what has happened to my beloved spirit steiny, to save all the hassle of trying stuff thats already been suggested can i just point you to a forum that i already posted this help topic in: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=512818 basically whats happened is the truss rod seems to be clattering around all over the place causing awful acoustic and amped vibrations and noises yet still adjusts the neck relief ok.... any suggestions would be great
