Mmm sounds like you maybe missing a bit of the Swr magic
-
Mmm tempted to put up some hardcore pics of mine up too
-
Oh well done that man
i do hope that it is as good as you hoped -
Sorry musky, well corrected, thats what i meant to say.
I'm with warwickhunt on some parts of his confusion.
imho, my theory on this judging by the overall condition from the pics posted
is that its been very rarely played for its age, infact its probably been dismantled
& cleaned more times than its been played. -
I dare ya
-
I know its a small shop with limited bass stock, but they are very helpful in there.
-
I always thought my squier jv pbass was quite light as well as my previous bass
the warwick streamer stage 1. -
Indeed a bargain it is.
I also own one of these, mines in sunburst.
As OTPJ says a large range of sounds can be coaxed out of these
basses, great preamp & very powerful pickups. -
+1 on what frank says
-
Ooops
i think the link is too long to work, but looking at the pics
it maybe a jap export model.
On my jv pbass mine has large squier logo with a small by fender logo
unfortunately the previous owner swopped the chrome hardware for black
which included the serial plate tooso the only original parts are
the headstock, frets, neck & the body.
But its still a beaut to play -
I couldn't get that link to work but try this one

From what of i remember of going in there, they don't really have
much of a range of bass practice combo's -
yeah the bits get stuck in ya teeth
-
Blimey mate, you have been busy
-
looking forward to meeting you again too
-
-
Ooh just realised Sharkfinger, what good taste you have
you have a similar bass rig to me as well
i use swr toowith an 800w poweramp on my larger gigs
-
oh wow is me, i can't view the pics properly
i also have a jv squire bass & a customised korean squire bass
& those who were at the midlands bass bash approved i believe -
my earliest memories of one of these basses is
when i went to see the jap rock band Vow wow in the late 80's
(just after he left whitesnake the first time round)
& seeing Neil Murray guesting on bass playing one of these
thro a marshall jubilee series bass stack. -
Just been listening to The Jamiroquai's
The return of the space cowboy album
I'm digging the bassline on the track
Manifest Destiny.
I also love the bassline from the track
supermodel sandwich with cheese by terence trent d'arby
from the album Vibrator. -
don't we all love a good ending
all together now ahhhh !!!!! -
I'm the lucky owner of the super redhead, i'm lucky enough to have the option
of using mine with a 2 x 10 or an 1 x 15 extension cab & i can coax any sound
i wish from it either for rock, pop, blues( jazz if i could play it) & its especially good on funk.
I haven't used the Black beauty combo myself, but i'd say it has a slightly fuller / warmer sounding bottom end
than the super redhead although i'm not sure what eq'ing options that is has available to it.
Yes it is a weighty combo, but it'll do the job for me.
Oh a quick add on which my fellow swr user JpJ forgot to mention, the redhead is rated at 240 watts @ 4 ohm
& the super redhead is rated at 350 watts @ 4ohm. -
Mmm & the plot thickens !!!!
i guess Mikeh is the new recipient of your Epi 310's
