  1. Hi Russ
:) yes i am a greedy git when it comes to swr gear,
but where were you when i was selling one of my 4 ohm swr 2x 10 cabs about 5 weeks ago

Anyway if you're in the market for buying an swr 1x15 cab there might be one up for offer soon

But no probs with the advice & once again.
Best wishes, there's plenty of good ones out there.

  2. Hi there
As one the resident swr users on this forum, i'd say its a difficult one to call.
I have 4 of these cabs, but i use the 8 ohm versions, i also seen this on ebay too.
The original swr drivers are punchy, tight & very clear sounding with lots of tone, i have never
used eminance drivers so i can't really say what they would sound like.

So i'd definately say my advice would be to demo these if you live close enough to do so, especially
as the ones advertised states that the tweeter doesn't work, which would suggest they may have been overdriven
in the past, so imho there's 2 reasons which accounts for why the original drivers have been replaced.

If this was me i'd probably wait as swr are about to release a version 4 of the goliath series which is meant
to have more power handling than the current 350 watt version 3's, so that may mean there maybe some good deals
to be had on the s/h market soon.
    Best wishes
    Bernie

  3. I've played one of these, they have one in my local pmt store & imho
i really like them, they're very light in weight, it has a slim jazz type neck
as well as a very slim body which makes feel closer to your body gives the overall
impression that its very fast to play & has a general good feel about it.

Anyway i've never being a seymour duncan pickup person but i was impressed with the
pickups & the pre-amp built into this, for me the only letdown is the bridge, which felt a bit
flimsy & wouldn't keep the bass in tune on a long gig for too many songs. So for me that
would be the first thing that i would look to replace.

I loved the colouring on this bass, which reminded me of my jazz bass special i used to have in the late
eighties, but looking at the paint job closely doesn't seem as good, so i think this bass would quickly get
mojo'd within a short space of time if used regularly.

I've always wondered what a p-bass body & jazz the pickups combination would sound like
& did consider customising one of my squire p-basses to make it like this.

So my overall impression was very good ^_^ , if for only the retail price which is around the
£600-700 mark but i'm sure you'll see cheaper online, but its slightly more than i'm prepared to pay
right now, otherwise i would probably be the proud owner of one.
