  1. Thanks for the replies, unfortunately it has not been serviced recently as I do not know of anywhere near me that can do it and m.o.n.e.y (but I think I should put some aside to get it back to the way it should be). With regards to the low mid boost I’ll give that a go and I will try to favour the bridge pup. I’ll report back later after a bit of a mess around.
  2. Hi guys, I'm having a tough time getting a useful let alone good tone out of my SVT late 70's (accompanied by NV610) with my Geddy Lee Jazz, at present it just sounds like mud with everything set flat (bass and amp). I got a better tone when turning the treble to about 14.00, the mids to 15.00 (switch on 800hz) and bass at 11.00-11.30 (both treble and bass boost off) but then it sounded a bit shy on the low end. My other basses (warwick thumb, musicman, P-bass) all sound good through it so I guess I need to tweak a bit more but could use some suggestions. I know the bass sounds good enough as I have got very good results through my Shuttle 6.0 and Barefaced Compact. Thanks in advance (sorry if it's the wrong section).
  3. Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I went with the compact for those considering the idea between the 2 cabs. I have tried this cab now on it's own and with a drummer and it can hold its own and keep your tone. I'm still trying to find the best settings on my Shuttle but will have to wait until we get the whole band going. I have to admit I was very surprised at how much of a flat response this cab has when set flat on the head it was very clear and very true to the basses I played (Squier P bass with Wizard thumpers/flats/and a bad ass bridge, a Warwick Thumb bolt-on, and a OLP 5 string). As the clean is not as much my thing I decided to dirty things up a bit and rolled in a bit more gain on the Shuttle, what a sound dirty yet still enough thump (to be honest I actually prefer the sound of my P into this setup than the SVT ). Just waiting on the next band practice with the guitard and singer and I will report how well the Shuttle can keep up (we normally have 2 guitards but my brother being the 2nd will have to go on drums as our drummer can not make the next gig). Thanks all for helping me in the decision.
  4. Thank you all for the replies so far, just had a look at the Big One as suggested and that's got me thinking now (GAS attack) just wondering if the Shuttle would power it well enough?
  5. Hi people, has anyone here had any experience with both of these cabs as I am trying to decide which of these would be the best match with my Shuttle 6 and I have searched but not to many people have tried the shuttle and compact so far (unless I missed the reviews sorry if I did). My big rig is an SVT + NV610 (still yet to really crank it) just want a smaller rig that I can use for practices (if I have the room) and for smaller gigs where the SVt is not practical (probably rules out most gigs then but still love it). Sound wise I would probably be looking for a good low mid sounding cab, tight bass and the ability to get a little grind when needed. For my main basses incase you want to know I have a Warwick Thumb BO, Musicman Stingray and a P bass with flats and I play in a bluesish rock band. Thanks in advance.
  6. Thanks so far for the suggestions, any other opinions?
  7. Hi guys 1st post, I am looking at a small head/cab idea for smaller venues/practice with the ability to use the head as a backup if my bigger rig (SVT & NV610) decides to fail me (please don't). I have tried the Shuttle 6.0 out and read a lot of reviews and think it is a very good head so at the moment i am biased towards that (unless someone else can tempt me to another head Walkabout or LM2) I am thinking a 112 will be my best bet as i could add another (down the line) if the volume was not enough but for now something fairly light and puts out a decent volume with good tone. The combinations that i have picked so far below (any opinions on the combinations)? Shuttle+NEOX112 Shuttle+Berg AE112 Shuttle+Berg HT112ER
