I play with a really low action and I’ve shimmed many basses successfully, it works perfectly if done correctly
Mine works perfectly.

She's really good! I'm assuming she is a Brit as she plays with some guy called Julian Hall who is definitely British.

I was in my 40's before I lived somewhere that had central heating.
When I came to jolly old England in the early 80s, the girl I came to see lived in Coundon Bishop Auckland up north. Their family home was built in 1724 and had 3 ft thick stone walls. Coal/peat fireplaces in every room.

I like the way my Jazz sounds. I don't own a pedal.

She's gone. They removed the life support machines and she didn't breathe on her own. We knew this, though. She had a round lodged in her brain and has been flat line since they got her to the emergency room.

Thank you all for the kind words.
It is not good. A bullet is lodged in her brain and her brain is swelling. They are to decide whether or not to end life support tomorrow.

This is known as suicide by cop. What a selfish coward.
Nicole is stable but critical in Intensive Care Unit.

Or a good word, or whatever you can do. A friend is a Sheriff's deputy here in Georgia, she went on a domestic call last night and a woman shot her in the face. The woman expired on scene. N has a 17yr old boy, her daughters are grown. This sucks so bad on so many levels.

Well, looks like the Geddy is blacked out as much as possible, except these blasted chrome vol knobs on the stack pots. When I find some blacks I will change them out. Otherwise, the only other thing I could change would be to an ebony fingerboard, but I'm not swapping this gorgeous playing neck.
New---Gotoh black 201 bridge, black Rotosound Nexus strings, black (cheesey :D) Jockomo inlay stickers that look better than I imagined, and I painted the poles black. I tried painting no hole matte black pickup covers with gloss but they reacted to the paint and it looked crazed. Ah, well.
Here it is.

This post is useless without BASS PICS.

The first subject line I typed was Hey stackknobbers, then I figured that wouldn't go over too well with this crowd.

Who is running 25Kohm resistors(for isolation) from the vol pot outputs to the jack? I think I need to. The tone pots are interacting.

Great band Fad Gadget. So different but still with it. I saw the post about the Dead Kennedys too. Great band but in the early 80's they played in Blackburn and tried to divide the audience and wanted us to fight. We'd been told about this before the gig as they did it the night before. When they tried it, we didn't take them on and told them to fook off. Unusual as we would have fought anyone in Blackburn. Great band who lost a lot of respect here unfortunately.
Jello Biafra was a phony. Never liked the DicKs.

"Update, I took the '20 apart and yep, it was back bowed. I went counter 3/8ths of a turn and set the ruler on it, it was straight. I let it sit for 2 days and rechecked it, it has a teeny bit of relief now. I came back 1/8 clockwise and will let it sit a day or 2 to see what it does."
Are you doing this with the neck attached to the body and then leaving it under tension with the strings on?
No sir, unattached. I aim to reassemble and string it up tomorrow, and check the relief.

the indentations may be a result of tooling, such as a drill stop depth, perhaps the fluted part of the drills for the neck holes are a certain length with a larger outer? and a little over zelously applied on those two...
I think you're right, Paul.

Here's useless but interesting pics of it apart. I am rather befuddled by the two 'top' (bottom in the pic) holes in the heel. There's nothing in the pocket that would cause the circular indentations. Any thoughts?

Ok so I have managed to work the screw out, have tried different pickup screws from my toolbox but it seems the holes are not deep enough as they all get really tight, I could drill deeper holes but I really dont want to risk bodging it, if I could find some pickup screws that were a bit shorter (say 20-25mm length instead of 30-35mm) then I would be sorted....hmm off to Google
