  1. Designed by Sekou Bunch in 2009 and released in 2010 and ran until around 2014 when Carvin rebranded to Kiesel for their high end guitars. Stunning looks with amazing playability and stability, as you would expect from Carvin. One of the nicest basses ive ever played and you'd be hard pushed today to find a nicer bass under £1500. Swamp ash body, Maple neck and Birdseye Maple fretboard, Carvin Alinoco pickups with Active/Passive switch, 18v preamp, stacked bass/treble knobs, 34" scale, 38mm nut width, Carvin premium tuners and bridge. In excellent condition, the body neck and frets are immaculate. comes with a high quality Carvin hard case with original case candy included. No offers please. Collection prefered but will post it out.
  2. So I got down to the rehearsal room last night and ran a speakon lead out of each channel of the QSC into the 2 cabs, had 50hz filter on and clip limiter switches on, parallel mode switches on, plenty of volume and sounds good, the Sansamp gain at 12 oclock and output 2 oclock, using a Fender Jazz bass in passive mode, im noticing the clip LED on each channel of the QSC is still coming when playing harder, im not hearing any distortion or anything unpleasant, is this ok ?
  3. One of the jack leads had melted from the bridging experiment, ive replaced the jack with a speakon, now using both channels parallel with limiter swiches on and 50hz filters on, havent had the chance to test it properly as I had to go back home to, but will after the weekend.
  4. yes I was in there recently, it was packed out
  5. Ive got an XLR, ill try it to see if there is any difference
  6. I noticed both of the channel clip LED lights came on
  7. I had the 2 cabs daisy chained out of 1 channel. I was under the impression that id get 600watts at 4 ohms and running 1 cab per channel would give me 360 watts at 8ohms, ive since learned that this was incorrect and the wrong way to set up. Both cabs are working. When I get the chance I will try running 1 cab per channel in parallel with clip limiter switch on and use an unbalanced jack from the sansamp out.
  8. Sorry I meant to say im using an unbalanced jack from the sansamp output
  9. Ive been using an unbalanced jack to speakon sansamp out
  10. I was originally running a Ashdown ABM IV 600 head into the cabs, it had plenty of grunt, I just didnt get along with the way it sounded. I then went with an Ampeg SVP-Cl preamp into the QSC 1850hd and loved the sound but struggled with the low output if the preamp. The sansamp sounds pretty good and more output than the Ampeg but not as much power as the Ashdown and lots of LED clipping from the QSC.
  11. The cabs are Ashdown 1x15 600w and 4x10 600w 8 ohms each. Running in parallel 1 cab per channel would put out around 380w each at 8ohms ? I find im struggling at this level within a band situation. I was under the impression that daisy chaining 2 cabs into the one channel would bring the load to 4ohms and around 600w, ive since learned that this isnt the case with the QSC 1850hd. It seems from what im reading that bridging the amp would be the best way to gain more headroom and reduce clipping with the correctly wired speakon lead.
  12. Im looking for some advice regarding my QSC RMX 1850HD. Im running a Sansamp RBI preamp ( which I like the sound of) into the QSC and daisy chaining 2 x 8 ohm cabs out of channel 1 to get a 4ohm load, I have the filter switches set to 50hz and also the switches set to parallel, the clip LED comes on quite frequently, I have both channels on the QSC set to full and the pre at around 12 o'clock. I also tried the bridged mono mode with the switches set to parallel, channel 2 filters and limiter off the but wasnt impressed by how it sounded. Am I doing something wrong with the way ive set it up ?
  13. I was under the impression that the G2202 only had one pickup and the G1222 was the 2 pickup version
  14. Hi, could anyone help me identify what model it is, its definitely not the G2220, the decals are different, the strap button is at the 13th fret rather than the 15th and the controls switch is in a different place to the G2220, im struggling to find a definitive answer. G1212 or G1222 maybe ? It was bought around 2001 and is made in Korea.
  15. Thanks for all your advice and help, stacking gain on top of each other isnt a perfect solution to the output issue but it gets the job done with minimal hiss
  16. It worked well, I put it between the SVP and the power amp

  18. Ive got this tube preamplifier that I use at home, im wondering if this would solve the issue
  19. Would a boost pedal between the pre and power amp solve the volume issue ?
  20. There is very little technical information in the SVP-CL manual, it doesnt mention anything about the output level
  21. Im using a speakon to jack for the first cab then daisy chaining the next cab speakon to jack to get a 4ohm parallel connection. The manual also gives the option of balanced jack. Ive been using unbalanced jack, tonight I will try a balanced jack to see if the 20kohm (balanced) to 10kohm (unbalanced) makes much difference.
  22. Ive got 2 QSC 1850hd Power amps, im considering selling them both and buying something that has the option of changing the input sensitivity from .775 to 1.5v
  23. Yes, that brings everything to 8ohms and even less headroom
  24. It does seem that way, if it wasnt for the boost from spectracomp compressor on my pedal board it would be completely useless for band rehearsal
  25. Yes and full on the preamp output also
