1. I have three. one solid top to to hang out with and practice at home ( "Young Man"). one durable but attractive Ply that's always dressed and ready to step out for gigs ("Blonde Babe") and one for my cat to sleep on and my bass mentor to use when he comes to torture me with the metronome ("Viva Las Vegas") !
 2. Ok Bass names. I agree that it is important. here is the assortment of bass characters in my world 1976 Engelhardt: "Baby Mouse" as it felt small and happened to have a mouse sleleton stuck solidly down on the bottom inside of the bass. Engelhardt EC1 : "Good Doggie" as it provided a nice groove as necessary. obedient, reliable. nothing special Shen SB90: "Blonde Babe" no explaination necessary Shen Hybrid: "Young Man" has a clean cut, proper look to it. funny how some basses are definitely female, and others, unquestionably masculine. Good luck!
 3. My stepdad has a a beautiful Morelli bass he is considering selling. I checked the label and noticed it has the signiture "andres Morelli across the label. does anyone have feedback as to how to verify this? were there Morelli basses that were signed? is there something else I can look at that will help me to resesarch the actual market value of this bass? I believe he purchased in early 70's. thanks.
 4. I would say numero uno. unchanged with the exception of strings of course. too bad there's no way to check the milage.
Tried to set up a poll here but it doesn't seem to be working. So 1. As it left the factory (excluding strings I guess)? 2. All parts verifiable from the same year of manufacture? 3. All parts verifiable as from the same era? Given that there seems to be considerable variability in how the phrase is used (especially among USA ebay sellers), what do you think? If the first option, how is this verified? Thanks Chris
5. You are right. Perhaps "my friends" should be renamed. "my electronic human contacts" perhaps.
I have no friends... but hey, it's the internet - nobody really has any friends on here until they have actually met! 6. Hey, after the 20th of January when we swear in our new pres, I can admit to folks that I am an American again. Maybe there is hope for me after all I love this site. it makes me smile. I play acoustic bass. my bass is much bigger than me. I definitely look up to it for guidance and protection but it would be nice to have some friends as well. When I cllick on "my friends" it tells me in no uncertain terms that I have NO Friends to display. any other loners out there wanting to talk bass? Swingin8th.
