I’ve bought this bass for 60£ longtime ago. Stagg JB. To be honest, not so good. So I’ve decided to convert it to fretless one. It was my first project (still not finished yet😂). Basically I was learning on it with no tools. Anyway...some pics. p. s. I’m not sure about pickguard. Shape, colour. Maybe someone can suggest something different?

Final coat of finishing oil on headstock. Now I’ll wait to cure that and then, sanding to make it satin -

Thanks guy. Your comments keeps me going👍 But now I’m facing a small problem. Obviously the neck wood is different then body one. So headstock colour is lighter. I’ll try to put more coats of finishing oil. Seems like more coats, more darker colour. any different suggestions? -

So I’ve put third coat on, let it cured, and then first coat of penetrating oil and pics are after first coat of high gloss oil. Still wet. Matching headstock. To be honest, after replies of you, I’m starting thinking about it😂. Will see😉 anyway...anybody has left handed precuted black nut for 5 strings Corvette? Or even blank one? Got only white bones ones. I’ll buy it. And now is time for some fretwork. -

Neck gonna be natural finish. I like satin necks so something similar. Headstock will be black with my Logo (basically similar as Rockbass....but Popbass😂, my nick name Pop.) -

Actually I’ll use water base stain by crimson guitars. Been watching countless videos on Bens youtube...quite like him and his knowledge. And recently I’ve used their oil to finish a bass. Turns great...needs final sanding and buffing of course. So wanna try their stains. -

Thinking to put black stain on her, then sand it of. Then green, maybe blue or red stain...can’t decide which🤦🏻♂️😂 mayby combination green blue? Well... I’ll keep you updated. -
This is rebuild of Warwick copy by Quincy. I’ve purchased her for 70£. Anyway, here’s the topic where it’s started. So I’ve started rebuilding her. Sanding, sanding, sanding...and it looks like nice grain. Wanna put stain on her and then finishing oil. Don’t decide what colour yet. Some pics🙂

Will do. Thanks.

Thanks guys. Already bought it, going to get her on Wednesday. Got a “couple” of high end basses so this gonna be a project guitar. Basically my plan is strip everything down to bare wood, all hardware and electronics will be replaced and new finish, probably blue stain and then nitro maybe. For 70£...happy with that price. I think I would pay more for body and neck if I wanna buy some. It is my hobby so I’ll make a nice bass from her I hope.

Thx. Pm’d you🙂

Tried. Doesn’t work for me. Don't know why🤷♂️. But thanks anyway.

Thanks guys. Already ordered a new nut for her🙂 and another thing. I’ve check neck on her and surprisingly it’s thinnest neck of all my basses😂 so I reckon it’s C shape neck and that’s why I’ve been thinking it’s thick one. So maybe I’ll reshape it to modern D or V. Also guys. Can you recommend where I can check serial number? And if so...should I type in the whole number?with or without space between letters, numbers?(It’s starting with SN then space...etc). Thanks.

Thanks Silvia for the information. Appreciate that. Anyway...my Rockbass has a pretty chunky neck I would say. To be honest, thinking to reshape the neck to my liking. The strange thing is: I do like Pbass necks, even chunky ones😂 maybe I was expecting fast slim neck as on modern basses. Forgot to mention. On mine there’s no adjustable nut...not sure if it’s even original one.

Does anybody know something about Quincy basses? Have opportunity to get one for 70£ Used. Maybe wood would be good for some project? Any information about them? Cheers.

Hi everyone. I’ve just got this Rockbass. Pretty much new in to Warwick basses, been playing Pbasses and Jbasses mostly so I don’t know much about Warwick basses. Can someone tell me more about her please? Or in general about those models (one piece bridge, 2005?...). Thanks.
