I’ve put one coat of black water based stain, sanded it back, then alcohol based green stain, 1 coat so far. Same will be done with the body.

Yes, that’s another reason why I’m doing it. I’ve noticed a cracks in the paint.

Really like this bass, really don’t like the colour😁 so it’s time to refinish her.

Final touch...custom logo arrived. Just wanted a similar logo as Rockbass has, but instead of Rockbass is Popbass (my nick name is Pop).

Finally done...small things still needs to be done (nut needs to be lowered etc...) but generally it’s finished 🙂 at some point I’ll refinish her, don’t know if I like colour. But for now I’m quite happy.

Any suggestions where to look?

Done!!! So after a couple of weeks bass is finally done. It’s not perfect by any means. Electronics pretty much shi......t😂 so that would be the first thing to swap for something else (any suggestions for something decent and not so expensive? Preferably pre wired...I’m not so good with soldering) waiting for custom decal I’ve ordered (Popbass instead of Rockbass) and then...well, don’t know yet😁 ...and some pics

Niceeeeeee...I would like to have a Rick, even cheap copy one. Where did you buy them? Have they got a lefty?

Same here...like the contrast chrome, blue. I’ll see when I’ll put her together and then... maybe even gold hardware?

Maybe black hardware suits her better? Opinions?

Another update. Frets levelling, polishing done and I’ve rounded ends.

I would say so...the coloured will look better. What I would do is: sand her off to bare wood, stain her with black stain, let it cure then sand her of again...and finally put your preffered coloured stain on her. The grain will pop up nicely.

Thanks Jimothey👍 To be honest, after a couple of coats of finishing oil, mine looks thick aswell...after sanding with 2500, very gently, it looks much more better and no so thick anymore, grain pops out nicely. It’s not done yet though. Will be sanding even more for satin look. Original finish went down pretty easy I would say. I’ve used 80-240 sand paper. But it depends on finish you having on your bass. May I ask for some pics please?

Thanks again, freatboard turned out really 👍. Body colour changed a little bit when I’ve left it to dry for 2 weeks. But not much. It’s sunny light vs inside light etc...didn’t use coloured stain or finish.

I was thinking red pickguard (high gloss) maybe with visible wood grain as it is? The body is basically finished, don’t wanna change it anymore(but I probably will at some point) Thanks.
