  1. A beautiful right handed 500/7 that plays like a dream with its super slim neck….It's fitted with La Bella flats and I've fitted a set of retro knobs to enhance its look. These are stunning bass guitars and are fitted with the 60's designed Hofner pick ups. If you want retro, great looks and a fab sound then bass will be right up your street. I've fitted an upper horn strap lock so that the guitar sits well on your belly. When I did this the serial number sticker came off due to the glue (I have detailed photo's of what I did and a copy of the serial number) Cherry Bomb is a water decal and she will come off. You are looking at circa £785 new with the extras but sadly they don't appear to be available off the shelf. The case has all of it's original candy and has an internal Temp gauge fitted. Please get in touch with any questions and sadly it's collection only from North Bolton and I will NOT ship it. (I would possibly meet up if I'm paid in advance) Thanks Mike 07545 145900 Tiger flamed maple body With sustain block Maple top Maple/Birch/Maple neck Jatoba fretboard Scale: 762 mm (30") Nut width: 42 mm 2 Höfner Staple Top humbucker pickups 2 Volume controls, 2 Tone controls Sixties-style tailpiece Ebony bridge Colour: Antique Brown Sunburst Reviews here: https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/bass/hofner-contemporary-series-verythin-bass-530467 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_-BRD94wEY

  3. 3 years ago I was interested in what the Elf claimed to be and I deliberated about buying one for over 12 months. In the end I thought "what the hell, buy one and if it's not right then send it back!" I bought it and it never went back. I use it to practice with a loud 80's band and it just blows me away every time I use it. It sounds ace, it's loud and fits into the pocket of my bass case and I carry it as a back up for for TC Electronic RH750...... To date I've never needed to use it for an amp failure but I'm quite confident that it would deliver if plugged into my 2 RS112 cabs. It also appears in many Top 10 Amp Reviews up against some amazing well established competition Has anyone gigged with one ? and on a slightly different note has anyone got any experience with the Warwick Gnome i-Pro?????? Mike
  4. HI.... Is this still available? I kinda suspect not but I've gotta ask Cheers Mike
  5. Hi. Yes they seem to be working the same but the issue is with the volume and tone control on the 2002 gold model. Volume = 8-10 loud, 3-7 no apparent changed and 1-2 off. Tone 1-3 tone difference then above 4 there is no difference. The 50-500ohm switch seems fine. I need to measure the resistance and will take both guitars apart again to double check everything. When I do this I will recheck the pot types 250/500 a&b ect. Once I've done this I will start again.
  6. Hi. Thanks for that.... I've just found a 680. The schematic said 690 so you've saved me a lot of trouble
  7. I agree and have ordered linear for the second one so I'll update the thread
  8. Hi. I'm thinking that the dealer whilst sending me 2.5k pots sent me the wrong type. I've found 2.5k Linear which I have ordered. I've also ordered new capacitors (.22uf & .15uf) but I am struggling to find a 690ohm Resistor. I kinda figured that it would make sense to replace them all whilst I'm doing the job and to eliminate any related issues. I'll update the post when I've done it
  9. Hi Again guys I am lucky to have 2 Casady's but please read on as to why I'm lucky White - 2014 owned for a while and this thing sounds amazing. I also have full control over the volume and tone so no issues here Gold - 1998 (Just bought) And the volume & tone are pretty much on or off with no in between. I can solder real well but I don't understand electronics. I spoke with Guitars North West and purchased replacement Alpha 2.5k pots and the packet is labelled (Volume & Tone). I've taken my time and fitted these by taking out both looms from each guitar so I could closely check the wiring but the problem is exactly the same. I am in the process of replacing both the capacitors and the one resistor to eliminate any issues with these BUT Whilst reading up on this side I came across an article about types of pots used on bass guitars and my scenario is mentioned. Not in a bad way but in a way that gives you an immediate drop in volume and treble tone if needed so the question is was this older guitar possibly designed to be like this and was this a spec requested by Jack Casady when working with Epiphone????? Your views would be very welcome before I just build it up and make adjustments on my amp....... Many thanks Mike

  11. Hi everyone I've bought a used JC Bass and I'm looking to order new volume and tone pots whilst its on it's way to me as I'm told that the volume pot is either on or off with no in between. Would anyone know the pot shaft sizes i.e. width and height ect I believe that they are also 2.5k and I understand that these may be hard to get hold of so any help with advice on an alternative would be great And finally....... Am I ordering Audio or tapered and if so for which pots Many thanks in advance Mike
  12. I believe that this new B-140e is based on that bass 👍
  13. The Guild got delivered today and to be fair I think that’s the keeper. The Alien is a tremendous bass though ❤️
  14. One needs to go and I’m genuinely torn 🤔😣😳
  15. Guys can I ask. I’ve plugged it in to my extension link On my cab and it’s silent. Will this only make a noise with a real high frequencies or am I looking at an issue. All 4 speakers are working Thanks in advance Mike
  16. Hi all I’ve just picked up one of these. Can anyone tell me anything about them. I know it’s a high frequency add on but could it handle an ELF for home practice or is this not what it’s all about Cheers Mike
  17. I certainly did Graham 👍😂😊
  18. Hi all I've bought a Warwick Alien and I'm condering fitting flats. The question is what type... I have Fender 9150's on my electric basses but would these work on this acoustic bass? Cheers Mike
