  1. I use an ms60b (ive tried others but settled with the zoom) at the end of my chain. With an amp sim always on. never change it's settings so that every gig I play I get di'd and the foh gets the identical signal every time. Less likely for the other fx sounding a bit funny when straight to desk. I then just use whatever amp or my own for monitoring purposes. I will always sound the same out front. Also means I can be set up and ready to go within seconds.

Not sure why it's not a standard thing to do to be honest.

  2. I had them both set at 12 oclock for a while because for some reason i thought this was them off... hated the amp fir a few weeks until i realised my mistake. Both off all the time now. Get plenty of range just from the eq... enough for me anyway.

I used IEMs for a while, but still went cymbal-deaf, so stuck to earplugs. I DI into the PA and use a small practice combo as a monitor. It has a CD input for playalongs, so now I feed the IEM receiver in to that with the vocals on. Bass and lead vocals pointed at my head all EQ'd to my taste without affecting the audient, and no ringing ears on the way home. I will need much convincing to change.

If you have the option try rolling the super lows off too. Means you can get a more clear sound of the bass without having to crank it. I remove everything below 50hz when i use my amp as monitor only.

Works for me! Not really anything to add about in ears though 😁

Great sounds, but really let down by the lack of a blend control in my opinion.

    This.

I used to run the synth and octaves fromvthe 'effect out' into a looper so that my normal signal was unaffected. Works brilliantly. The octaver is as good an octaver I've used. The synths are not amazing but decent enough when used sensibly.

Love the pedal... so much so I nearly had two in my board!

  6. Just a follow up question from this... hopefully someone can answer as I can't work this out...

Let's say band members A,B,C and D write load of tunes. Only A and B register at the time and the songs get registered as written by A and B. If C decided at a later point decides to register, can he be added as a registered writer? I assume it'll need to be with agreement from A and B, or perhaps C has missed the boat? Either way... C has made a complete C of it.

    Hypothetically speaking of course.

  7. I love the b3.. however the more I used mine the less happy I was with the distortions/fuzzes and the octaver. Couldn't really fault it for all the other things though. the preamps are great I thought!

  9. I would say an eq pedal is more to sculpt the existing sound you have, where as a preamp amp pedal is more to 'create' your tone. From my experience anyway... I'm sure not all preamp pedals (or eq pedals) work the same. I've found that preamps generally colour the sound in order roamed it sounds like that type of preamp, where eq pedals are transparent.

No doubt someone will come along and tell I'm wrong but that's just my experience. Haha

  10. As others have said, if you like the sound you get already I'd be tempted just to get a 2nd TE if i were in your shoes. If however you fancy sonething that can be kept as spare, without taking up to much space, then sone of the wee micro amps would do . I use a markbass backline. sounds good to my ears, plenty loud enough for most gigs. It'll sound different to your TE, but not necessarily worse. Cheap too.

  11. Personally, it's all about what you play when its guitar solos. You should be looking at arranging your parts to suit it better.

Also if you get the balance between you and guitarist more even... it means there will be less of a drop in sound when he goes all twiddly.

A bit of grit may help it slightly... but I think that's more papering over the cracks.

    Imo of course

  12. I tried a few cheapo Fuzzes and although some sounded passable, I decided just to go back to a fredrics effects fuzz... Think mine was 70 quid... With a blend.... Instant!y sounds better! I even used to think the fuzznon my multifx sounded decent until I a\b'd it with my new fuzz... Not much more money but miles better

  13. The ms60b is a brilliant bit of kit. I can understand why some folk might fond it fiddly but once you overcome that it'll do exactly what you need it to do.

You can do it in a b3 too, but for me that would defeat the purpose of the b3 and it's main selling point (ie treat it more like 3 individual pedsls)

  14. If you can pick up a 2nd hand zoom b9.1ut then it's worth a go. Quite big but with the xy expression pedal you have so much control over many things. That had all the ins and out you'd need. The distortions and octaver were the only downside but it wasn't much worse than other multis ive used .

Also had a blendable effects loop so you can add in your own fuzz if you want.. which I did for a while.

Could you get the sound you want without the cabs just using the Sansamp kit - so the FOH has "your" sound, and then you can put up a not quite as perfect on stage sound from your cabs just as your personal monitor?

That's exactly how I do it. Means that for the times you don't use your own amp then it doesn't affect things too much.
