1. I went ahead and bought a PJB 4B from the Bass Centre, as they have them on discount. Can't find anyone cheaper.
2. I own one of the Westfield VBS5a's (or Warwick look a likes). The issue i had with it in the begining was to with the strings. It came strung with a wierd set of strings, with a very light "low B". And thus this was causing loads of fret buzz. I chucked them and stuck a set of Medium Warwick Yellow Labels on it, did a good proper set up and it plays just fine. The only 2 issues i can put against the bass are, the rear strap button is too high up and gives you major neck dive. And the pickups are quite weak. Apart from that its doing me just fine. and is my gigging bass.
3. I use one of these EARWIG Great little device, great company, fast shipping. I know a few people who have the VOX and they all say the same thing, that it eats through batteries. My Earwing runs off a single 9v battery i've had the same one in for 2 months now and i use mine for at least an hour a day.
4. I'm doing a cover of Peggy Lee's 'Fever' in a couple of weeks during a gig and i'd like to try and recreate as best i can, a double bass sound using my B2. Anyone got such an effect that they can post the settings for , or give me any ideas on a good way to get the effect from the pedal?

6. HI, from a scottish expat! (Originally from Ayrshire, moved to Glasgow for a couple of years, now living in Finland!) Welcome....send Irn-Bru and chips!
7. Hi all, I'm looking for a PJB Piranha 4b cab and wondered if anyone knows of places doing the best prices for it? The best price if found was the bass centre in London, who will do it for £320 (approx 338€) shipped to Finland (where i am) Does anyone know of any other places that might be cheaper?

10. Thanks for the replies guys. Rondo Music in the States ship them to Europe , pretty much anywhere. The price of the bass, plus shipping, plus customs (if it gets caught) is only around €200 , still a bargin. If anyone is looking for an SX it's worth your time to get in contact with Kurt at Rondo, fast, helpful replies to all questions. I went to a couple of the local music shops where i am in Finland. They said they could get the bass , but it sould be a "special shipment of " and " an order of a specialist bass" i was quoted the price of around €350..... It's crazy some of the prices in Europe.
11. Ok i have my heart set on an SX JB75CT NAT. I'm in Finland, and nowhere here sells SX basses. Rondo music in the USA wont ship to Finland. Does anyone know anywhere in Europe that sells them and would ship to Finland?
12.
I don't own one, but it was one of the basses on my list of potentials when I was. But none turned up during the appropriate time period. My son owns a 1/2 sized Westfield LP guitar, and as far as I can see it seems a competently made instrument. Apart from the horrors I saw when I took the cover off to look at the wiring. I'd appreciate it if you'd review the instrument. What do you think of it?
It's really hard to find ANY information about these basses, even on the website there is virtually nothing. Well its basically a kind of a cheap "thumb copy". i paid £165 for it off ebay, and in a way i got what i paid for. its not a bad bass but its not really great either, its just kind of OK... getting it set up the way i like was the hard part, and its still not perfect, and probably will never be. There is a fair amount of neck dive on it, so i am going to more the rear strap button further down the body. String spacing is about 16.5mm i reckon, its fine for me. The major thing is there is a bad string buzz on the G string, around the 5th to 9th frets. i reckon at some point i will need a fret dress.I'm getting by at the moment with just adjust my attack on the string. Im also going to replace the nut at some point as i think there is a fault with it, (see pic)
13. Hi All, first post here, just joined. Im also a member of another bass forum (TalkBass) , and i had asked this question with little success. Are there any owners (present or past) of a Westfield VBS5a or a VBS4a out there? I would like to hear peoples views on them. I bought a VBS5a a month back now. here's a pic...
