1. I had the pleasure of playing with tom bugs for years in War Against Sleep, right when he was just starting out on the pedals and noise boxes, this guy can build a pedal! He built me a few to basically stop me from moaning about too many options too many pedals... A pedal from him is rare these days when he is mainly building synths.. If you want something weird then jump on this the guys a genius!!

I still have a thumb theremin, a boost box and a custom distortion he built to stop my bitching, awesome pedals that sneak back into my pedalboard every time and bit crushing and bonky samplers are his forte! This is a unique opportunity to own one of his pedals because you can honestly count the amount of pedals he has made on two hands!

  2. Up For Sale is my Darkglass Vintage Microtubes, good condition and boxed. This is a great pedal and needs no introduction. Im just having to sell due to financial need and its either this or my vintage sovtek muff so i guess this is easier to re-buy down the line!

Looking for cash rather than trades unless someone is trading an Amptweaker Bass Tight Drive or an Iron Ether Subterranea, pretty specific but you never know!

Price is £140 incl UK shipping.

  3. Hi there,

I have a reverend rumblefish and the neck is perfect profile for me, does anyone know where i might get a neck built to the same profile? Also any experiences with this and potential costs would be appreciated..

  4. Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone here could build one of these or advise me, i'm really not sure i could achieve it. I also have another pedal that someone made for me that needs rehousing and fixing up with 9v power.. (Its a pedal featuring a LPB and Hogs Foot in one box) The box is chunky and the pedal currently only takes battery power so it is the odd pedal out and i'm terrible at forgetting to take the battery out!

Who are the pedal builders on here and how close do clones usually get? I see a lot of schematics online with necessary components listed but assume it is like valves and basses and everything else in that even if you build it with the correct components it might not sound as good.

Any advice or details of anyone who could help would be much appreciated.. I know the BDPG is based on the same pedal but i'm looking for something clean that i can leave on to fatten up the sound of my p basses..

My other pedals are - BB Bass Preamp, Fulltone Bassdrive, Sovtek Fuzz so i have the dirt covered...

  5. Here is my one terrible picture of this bass by request...

It was used in Henry Mancini recordings as well as Frank Zappa!!

It was the nicest jazz i have ever played, the neck is amazing and the sound is out of this world and im not usually a jazz fan!!!

Price tag... somewhere in the £20,000 mark so yeah... buying it next week!!

  6. For any basschatters heading to Glastonbury i'm playing some shows with my bands on some of the smaller stages so come along if you are there!!

Thursday - 10pm West Holts Backstage - Howling Lord (passes needed but pm me if you want to come as we usually get given a fair few)

Friday - 9pm Fluffy Rock Cafe - Howling Lord (In the Greenfieilds area usually, logo as the Hard Rock Cafe)

Saturday - 9pm The Bandstand - John E Vistic (in the market area, not to be confused with the Croissant Neuf bandstand)

No idea if anyone reads these listings but a fellow bass-chatter suggested it!

John E Vistic is balls out rock and roll three piece style and Howling Lord is country / punk in the tradition of Cash, Creedence and Hank Williams.

  7. Just sold Jon's Fender Jazz Custom Shop back to him, meaning it was more like he leant it to me for a few months, or as Jon put it makes me more like a Pawn shop operator!! :)

Very happy to have sold it back to Jon, he is a top bloke to deal with and completely trustworthy, the transaction was fast and painless and great communication throughout, deal with Jon with total confidence! Thanks again!

  8. I have decided to keep the Acoustic Image and Bergantino. I have just got a new double bass and after a few weeks of playing have remembered why i got this setup in the first place because it sounds amazing! Many apologies to those that were interested, it is a hard choice as i need the cash and wanted a change but now going with the old "if it ain't broke..." theory.

  9. I use an acoustic image focus and a bergantino 1x12.. My pickup is also a realist.. I only just got my new bass after a period of not having an upright, i had decided to sell the amp but after my first session on it i have to keep it, it does sound natural and approximates the acoustic sound well..

I think the realist is a great choice for a natural sound, i have tried a few pickups with this in mind. I have tried the same pickup through a little mark tube and i felt it lacked presence.

Im now in the position where i really wanted to get a Tonehammer 500 and a different cab and i have to say i was completely blown away by the sound of the acoustic image.. I still dont like it as much as a doubling amp but im not sure what else would give such a naturalistic sound,,
