Thanks for the advice nothing wrong with the pjb I just love the Aguilar sound so just thinking of getting one for a change , I was even thinking of getting something brand new for around that price but not sure what s good and bad as you say everyone’s amp seems to be the best

Hi I have a pjb suitcase with extension speaker great for home but considering a Aguilar tone hammer 500 plus a couple of db112 or db212 , I love the retro fender jazz tone , passive. I m wondering if anyone out there can recommend anything that could possibly be better? I m looking for used cabs and a new amp my budget is about £12/1300. I really don t know enough about the subject , I m not bothered about weight as only for home but I d like something small( cab ) any advise much appreciated

Hi I ve just bought the same type of bass as a project to do up , through neck , the whole bass is pretty rough , neck looks good frets possibly need re fitting , electrics on and off , I m looking to veneer the front with burr maple and respect the back plus neck in gloss black blending it into clear on the front , I m struggling with the electronics , so does anyone know of a decent pre amp , active, passive plus good quality pups ? Maybe John east or? Maybe Aguilar pickups or ? I know it ll cost more than the bass is actually worth but just a hobby thing really , I don t mind routing out and fitting more knobs etc just want something that sounds great , any advice would be appreciated thanks
